Looking to follow up a very strong 2014, the 2015 Nissan Sentra is at dealerships now with some serious content revisions and noticeable bump in pricing: While last year's Sentra was available at $15,990, the price of entry to the 2015 lineup starts at $16,480. Of course, that still undercuts all of the mainstream competition except for the Chevy Cruze and, for the base-level version of the 2015 Nissan Sentra, brings a newly standard USB port and automatic headlights.

There also are more significant revisions further up the line, albeit accompanied by further pricing changes, too. For example, the 2015 Nissan Sentra SV welcomes the 2014 Driver Package as standard content for the new selling season, which means adding the Nissan Intelligent Key system, six-speaker display audio with a 5.0-inch color screen, a rearview camera, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, and SiriusXM Satellite Radio; just remember that the SiriusXM subscription is extra. Similarly, the formerly optional Driver Package for the 2014 Sentra SR becomes standard on the new model, bringing the previously mentioned goodies as well as rear disc brakes.

The range-topping 2015 Nissan Sentra SL caps things off with now-standard features from the previous Leather Package, highlighted by a heated front row and leather-appointed seating throughout.

Other changes to the 2015 Nissan Sentra:

  • For cutting-edge connectivity in the SV, SR and SL models, the NissanConnect with MobileApps system is standard and combined with Bluetooth audio streaming hands-free text-messaging assistance and a 5.0-inch display.
  • Nissan has introduced a fresh Style Package for the SV, bundling a power-sliding moonroof, illuminated visor-vanity mirrors for the front row, a rear spoiler, and 16-inch aluminum-alloy wheels with a 10-spoke design.
  • The 2015 Nissan Sentra SV and SR benefit from a standard sliding armrest up front.
  • Four more exterior colors also are in the mix for the Sentra for 2015, bringing the total to 11 with the introduction of Titanium, Cayenne Red, Fresh Power and, reserved for the 2015 Nissan Sentra SR, Red Alert.

It's also worth noting that—as mentioned above—the Nissan Sentra will kick off the new year with plenty of momentum, posting 15,393 sales in December and driving sales up by 42.5 percent. For the year, Sentra sales soared 41.9 percent, reflecting 183,268 deliveries.
