2014 Nissan Rogue - S FWDChange Make/Model
2014 Nissan Rogue Summary
Changes for the 2014 Nissan Rogue:
The Nissan Rogue is completely redesigned for 2014, with production moved to Tennessee. The previous-generation, Japan-sourced model continues as the lower priced Rogue Select.
The redesigned 2014 Rogue adopts a more rugged appearance and expands in size to allow for an optional third-row seat. NissanConnect technology and several new safety features are available, and the Rogue can also be optioned with a panoramic sunroof, LED headlights, a Divide-N-Hide cargo management system, and Quick Comfort heated front seats. A new continuously variable transmission (CVT) improves fuel economy, and the 2014 Rogue comes standard with Nissan’s Easy Fill Tire Alert system.
Nissan offers the new 2014 Rogue in S, SV, and SL trim levels. Rogue SV highlights include dark tinted rear privacy glass, dual-zone automatic climate control, Intelligent Key passive entry with push-button starting, a power driver’s seat, NissanConnect Apps, automatic headlights, and 17-inch aluminum wheels.
Upgrade to the Rogue SL for leather seats, Quick Comfort heated front seats, a Bose premium sound system, NissanConnect with navigation and a 7-inch touchscreen display, a power rear liftgate, heated side mirrors, an Around View Monitor, and 18-inch aluminum wheels.
Engines and Transmissions:
Every 2014 Rogue is equipped with a 170-horsepower, 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine and a next-generation Xtronic CVT that delivers power to the crossover SUV’s front wheels. All-wheel drive is optional, and includes Hill Descent Control to complement the standard Hill Start Assist system.
Fuel Economy Ratings:
As this summary is written, the EPA has not published official fuel economy estimates for the 2014 Rogue. Nissan claims it will get 28 mpg in combined driving, even with the optional AWD system.
Neither the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) nor the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) had performed crash tests on the redesigned Rogue as this summary was written.
Standard equipment for the 2014 Rogue includes a USB port, Bluetooth connectivity with streaming audio capability, a hands-free text-messaging assistant, and a reversing camera. Optionally, the Rogue is offered with NissanConnect smartphone integration technology with a 7-inch color touchscreen display, a navigation system, traffic and weather reports, and NissanConnect Apps.
Safety-related technology includes the Rogue’s available AroundView Monitor system, a Moving Object Detection system, a Blind Spot Warning system, a Lane Departure Warning system, and a Forward Collision Warning system. To help owners keep their tires inflated to the proper pressure, the new Rogue includes an Easy Fill Tire Alert system that automatically chirps the horn when the owner is filling the tires with air and the proper pressure is reached.
Active Trace Control, Active Brake Control, and Active Ride Control are also standard for the new Rogue. Active Trace Control employs the stability control system to create a torque vectoring effect when cornering, Active Brake Control helps to slow the SUV when the driver is braking to reduce brake wear, and Active Ride Control adjusts the powertrain to smooth out the ride after the Rogue hits a big bump.
