Advice: Too many problems CR gives Quest worst reliability rating

Too many shakes and rattles. Drives like a mack truck and extremely difficult to park. Transmission shifts roughly.

    2004 Nissan Quest - SL (A4)

Pros: with two kids, it's functional

    Cons: noisy sliding door

Advice: don't buy, every maker has a van and none have been designed as poorly

Comfortable and spacious and then you drive it for a week...drivers side sliding door noise is not fixable. It seems to lose power steering when not accelerating. There is a bad vibration in the steering wheel that makes you think something is wrong with your wheels. The captains chair cupholders jab you in the leg when you're getting in and out. The headrests have to be removed everytime you want to drop last row of seats. So hard to handle in tight areas, can't tell if your straight or not in parking, can't see front end....

    2005 Nissan Quest - SL (A5)

    Pros: None

    Cons: Such poor quality parts

Advice: Do not buy this or other Nissan models at all

One of the poorest quality automobiles I have ever had. Bought it two years ago as soon as it was introduced and have about 32k miles. Beset with problems. Very poor body fit and finish- rattles from doors all the time. After 2 years and about 8 trips to a couple of different dealers to fix this problem, it is still just as bad. Also, poor quality parts, had already replaced wheel bearings in the rear- I had to take the car to the dealer for 3 times for this. Also some times the transmission will not shift. First noticed this about a year ago. Dealer supposedly fixed this, but problem resurfaced last week. Now they replaced the transmission control module. Nissan has issued a service bulletin about this. We are all aware of the many recalls they have had so far and the one they just issued last week for seats. My advice do not buy this or other Nissan models. At this rate, their magical turnaround (profits) is going to be history soon.

    2005 Nissan Quest - S (A4)

Pros: DVD player & smooth ride

    Cons: Nothing

Advice: Great van! Way better than any SUV

We bought the base '04 model w/ no major bells or whistles. We did get power windows & door locks along w/ the DVD player which is the best. I am not bummed that we did not opt for the power sliding doors since it seems they can be unsafe. I think it's pretty sad if we can't even slide a door open and closed anymore. Love the space and the folding seats which are easy to do. We have had the van for about a 1 1/2 years and we have had no problems at all. We have not experienced any rattles or recalls. My husband and I absolutely love this van. We even added a tow package a couple months ago and towed 2 jet ski's w/the trailer with no problems. I have never owned a Minivan before but I am glad we decided on this one!

    2004 Nissan Quest - SL (A4)

    Pros: The CD player

    Cons: Air Conditioning

Advice: If the A/C and gas mileage is important to you check other vehicles.

The Gas mileage is awful, 16 mpg around town. The air conditioner is designed poorly. I was asked to pay $125 FOR A RECHARGE after 18 months because it is not covered under warrenty if the service department can't find the leak that caused the recharge to be necessary. I had it recharged and the system got cooler for 3 days. I had it rechecked 1 week later and I was told that it was at peak performance. (It NEVER gets COLD). With gas going up in price I feel like I got duped and can't do anything about it. It does run fine though. A slight shimmy when I apply the breakes is also a little disturbing.
