Pros: 4cylinder 5 speed.
Cons: Turning radius=school busI have the XE model which is the base model and has a 4 cylinder. This is what I wanted: 4 cylinder manual 5 speed, I owned 3 trucks with this before( 1 Nissan, 2 Fords) and then 'upgraded to a V6 auto-hated it. The 2007 Frontier gets 22MPG city highway anywhere except hi speed interstate and/or windy. I mostly drive in the city so had I got a bigger engine it would have been terrible mileage. The interior is laid out great-removable cup holders (easy to clean), storage tray on the dash, one cubbie under the HVAC controls, another in front of the shifter. The passenger seat back folds flat into a table. The back doors open to 90 degrees allowing easy access to the back which is huge with the seats folded up-large enough for suitcases. I removed the child seat attachment to the back seat allowing more room. My wife & I took a 2000 mile trip to Colorado with 2 bikes and what a great rig. 2 bikes mounted to a board across the bed, 2 totes with food, a cooler, and 2 suitcases in the bed. The 4 cylinder did not race up Vail pass but it got 28MPG all day. I think less oxygen=less gas. 19MPG across Kansas. We did 10 hour days and it was comfy. The seats are not the most comfy but they worked even for the long haul. 40,000 miles and never a problem. I use it as a homeowner hauling: furniture, plants, bikes, etc. nothing heavy until I put down sod. My 1st load was 1000# for 40 miles no problem so the next one was 1300# and still no problem. Stiff suspension holds up great much better than Ford Ranger.
Pros: Very reliable and all around great truck
Cons: can't pull a fifth wheelBest all around vehicle I have owned in a long time. 90k mi and still drives like brand new.
Pros: Stable Cruise Control, commendable.
Cons: Obviously plastic interior finish and poor turning radius,
Advice: There is a reason Nissan Trucks are lower priced, but do your homework & haggle w/ Toyota instead. You get your moneys worth. It is very difficult to maneuver this vehicle into a parking space pulling into a spot at a 90 degree angle because of the very required wide turning radius of this vehicle. When making a legal u-turn at a stop light, I often have to back the vehicle up to clear the sidewalk. I've noticed, full size pick up trucks can clear u-turns that I cant. Do not buy this vehicle, it is not worth it. The finish in the interior way below average compared to it's competitors. Nissan marketing are liars, when they claim the turning radius is comparable with similar lenght vehicles. Save you money, don't make the mistake I made. please. Nissan is behind the times in customer service, they are not customer oriented. They require a $5.00 fee for making payments on their website if it isn't automatic bill pay. No express service oil changes and no aftermarket accessories for this vehicle as it is not a very good truck.
Pros: 4 wheel drive`
Cons: The wheels split apart and fall off.
Advice: It is unsafe to yourself and others on the road and Nissan will not honor warranty.Dangerous vehicle. Drivers side front wheel split in half at 65mph speed in rush our traffic. Lucky nobody got killed. Dealer - Carlock Nissan in Tupelo, MS, said it had to be caused by road hazard & they & Nissan would not cover under warranty. However, there must be a defect in either the rims or the front wheel design. In either case the Frontier - and possibly other Nissan vehicles with similar wheels - is unsafe. Nissan has had wheel recalls on other vehicles which were replaced at no cost! They have stonewalled us. See federal highway safety administration web site for full complaint on Frontier.
Cons: none,so far.
Advice: test drive and feel for yourself.Smooth Ride,a little rough on some roads but the overall performance is EXCELLENT. I love the way I feel when I'm driving my new Nissan SE. I needed the proformance and the Drivetrain of a truck that dealers the power and usage factor a truck like this can give Thank You, Nissan.
