    2006 Nissan Frontier - 4x4 King Cab 6' Box

    Pros: Ease of entrance

    Cons: Heavy tailgate

    Advice: Do comparison shopping

For a vehicle this size and design, excellent handling and comfort. Gas mileage could be better. But, I understood what the mileage would be before I made the purchase. Spacious interior.

    2006 Nissan Frontier - LE (A5) 4x4 Crew Cab

    Pros: Performance

    Cons: Poor headlights

Advice: buy it, you will like it.

This is a great truck. Super drivetrain fast, smooth and strong. Shift on the fly to 4WD works great. Quiet ride. I looked at a Chevy and Toyota before selecting this truck. You get a lot of features for the money from Nissan. The back seat is a little too upright and a bit small for large adults (but this is a mid-size truck). This is a beast, you can tow a lot. The factory spray-in bed liner is by far the best I have ever seen. The util-track system in the bed gives you very flexable tie-down points. A few 'car' features like automatic headlights and dual climate controls would have been nice (it seems that Nissan held those back fo the Titan).

    2006 Nissan Frontier - LE (A5) 4x4 Crew Cab

    Pros: Power

    Cons: Heavy tailgate

Advice: Before you buy a Tacoma, look at this!

I am very happy with my truck. It drives great looks great and pulls my boat with ease. Its great to have a back seat again. I love all the features and attention to detail. I looked at the Tacoma too and liked this truck much better. It came with much more for about 2000 less and much better financing.

    2006 Nissan Frontier - XE (M5) 4x2 King Cab 6.5' Box

    Pros: Smooth and quiet operation

Cons: Cheap fabric seats that fray quickly.

Advice: Do not buy a Frontier with cloth interior.

Overall, the 2006 Frontier XE is a pretty well balanced truck. It has two negatives however. Since Nissan automatic transmission fluid is all that you can use in this truck, Nissan has 'locked' the transmission check dipstick so nothing but the proper fluid can be used and they recommend you take it to a dealer to check the tranny fluids. However if you have a 10MM socket, you can check it your self. The other negative is that the fabric seats 'fray' very quickly. My driver'seat frayed in 28 days from purchase and I suspect Nissan will have to replace several seats before the warranty runs out on my new truck. Other than that, the XE is a pretty good value and outperforms all pickups in its class including the 'sissy looking' Toyota Tacomas.

    2006 Nissan Frontier - LE (A5) 4x4 Crew Cab

    Pros: Dual power/heated leather seats

Cons: There are no automatic door locks after drive off

Advice: Full size power in a midsize truck

Nice ride for a truck feels like a car. Lots of room inside and not much road noise. The upgrade in engine horsepower gives it plenty of get up and go. The master lock out door switch could be redesigned in which the master control does not lock all other doors from the drivers control door also. Have to watch the rear window controls, normal resting on the arm rest has your hand just in the right place to lower the windows before you know it.
