Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
Pros: Gas milage and 20 gal fuel tank
Cons: Transmission and noise in cabinThis is my 2nd Nissan -- I previously owned a 1994 Sentra that I put nearly a quarter million miles on with absolutely no problems. The Altima is larger and certainly with more power, but after owning it for almost 4 years I don't think the build quality of Nissan models is a high as it used to be. I do not like the CVT transmission -- its loud and 'down shifts' when going down hills; the car cabin is much noiser than the Sentra especially on less than smooth roads. I have had to replace the fuse in the console 3 or 4 times and last spring had to replace the entire fuse box (over $400). That plus some other little fixes here and there just leaves me with the impression that this car is not up to the usual reliability of Nissan and other Japanese cars I have owned in the past. I have about 63K miles on it (mostly highway) and have been seriously thinking about trading it in on something else -- which is very unusual for me as I tend to keep cars for 10 or more years and don't usually think about another car until I have put at least 250,000 miles on one.
Pros: very smooth rider
Cons: i loved it all, not many problems at all!I love this car! It was my first car, and did very well!
Pros: easy to drive
Cons: wind when it whips upall around solid great for every day car
Pros: 'the fact that is a Hybrid
Cons: Lack of trunk space, the ONLY negative! Will probably hold onto this car as I average 35 to 40 mpg and that is a great savings on gas at todays prices.
Best Car I've Ever Owned (of 15)
Pros: Great appearance
Cons: The paint chips or scratches easilyThe car is dependable, rides good and looks great. It has good power for a 4 cylinder. The interior is roomy, looks good, and has a quality feel to it. No glitches - everything still works fine after 5 years and 88,000 miles. Interior does not have a 'worn' look - still clean and colors crisp. The gas mileage is excellent. I usually average about 28 mpg or so, but If I nurse it I can get 30 mpg overall. On the highway, I get 34 mpg at 65, and 32 mpg at 70. My only complaint is the paint - it's a very thin skin - nicks easy and scratches easy. That's the only negative thing I can say about the car (that's why I gave only 4 stars for Quality). I'd buy this again in a heartbeat.
My First Nissan
Pros: The Leather Interior
Cons: The options are pricey!I purchased the 2010 Altima 2.5 SL in July and I have to admit it's a very well made car. I have about 4400 miles on it thus far and drove it on two road trips over this past summer. It's sporty fun to drive with good handling and gets very good gas milage which is a plus since I commute using I-95 to work each morning. Anyone who is on the fence deciding whether to purchase the Altima don't hesitate to take the plunge! You won't be dissapointed.
Comfortable and trouble-free
Pros: power seat
Cons: engine powerThis car has been trouble-free and quite economical to drive and own. It is most comfortable on long trips. I recommend it to all.
