2004 Pontiac Grand Prix - GTP

    Pros: Beutiful car

    Cons: Handling issues

    Advice: Dont buy one

This car has been in the shop three times with steering issues. It has had two power steering pumps. Also the steering rack and other steering issues that have not been repaired properly by the dealer. Has been in the shop also with cd and radio problems (MONSOON)and computer issues. This car has only 34,000 miles and is beautiful to look at. We finally gave up and traded for a Honda Accord. Naturally the trade in value for the Pontiac was poor so its costing us alot but feel Honda or Toyoda is the way to go from here on out.

Pros: 5.3 Liter V8 with Displacement on Demand

Cons: No gas cap holder built into the cover

Advice: Buy it! You'll be happy that you did.

My Grand Prix GXP is the best vehicle I have ever owned. It provides performance, comfort, and styling while having 4 doors to accommodate the family. It is such a great feeling to get in a car every day that you absolutely love to drive. It is truly worth every penny.

2006 Pontiac Grand Prix - GXP

    Pros: The navigation system

Cons: The fact that I can't drive this vehicle safely in the snow.

Advice: If you live in snow country, think twice before you make the purchase!

I find the GXP to be an all-around good to excellent all around vehicle. The only problem I find disturbing is, that I live in New England where we get our share of snow. Because of the performance tires on the vehicle, it is almost impossiable to drive in the snow. I have gone to tire dealers, and looked on the internet to buy all-season tires, only to find that No tire company makes a set of four all-season tires for this car.

2002 Pontiac Grand Prix - GT Sedan

    Pros: Sporty ride

    Cons: Low mileage repairs

    Advice: Consider other makes.

Bought this car new in 2002. First problem i had with it was the anoying pinging noise from the front end which ended up being the brake caliper bolts which had side play in them. Not fixed by GM. Second probem, had a recall on a sensor gasket replaced on the intake manifold, ever since, every 2 months the coolant light came on and had to backfill the radiator. No clue where the coolant was going. Third problem was at about 35000 miles, the front cv joints started going bad, making loud whining noises. Now at 52000 miles, the transmission is going out. I've read all about it on sites and its pritty common on the GP'S. A selinoid goes bad inside the transmission and causes really hard shifts. Better buy an extended warrantee because its a $2500 job. I had one, but traded for a TRUCK!!!!! Wont buy another Pontiac!!!!!
