2010 Nissan Xterra - Off Road (A5) 4x4
Cons: rough ride
Advice: beware of the NISSAN WARRANTYHave a 2008 X-Terra 6 speed standard transmission with 8,500 miles the clutch went. It cost $1600.00 to repair. Nissan would not cover under warranty stating it was a wear and tear item. Have been driving standard shift for over 50 years and never had a problem. Despite numerous attempts Nissan refuses to take any responsibility.

Advice: buy it buy it buy itThis thing has great power. 4 wheel drive is excellent. Decent gas mileage for the size and power. I put this thing through alot of abuse the last three years and it just keeps asking for more.

Advice: If you don't want any exciting features and don't mind bumpy rides and road noise this is your car!Such a rough ride! We bought the Xterra new because it was still priced in the $20's the rest of the cars/SUV's we liked were in the 30's...but my goodness it's very plain jane, super bumpy and the road noise is bad. Knock on wood it has been good to us, no real problems. but I would not buy it again, it's also bad on gas...

Cons: I do not like Automatic transmission, but it is what my wife wanted. 20% loss in fuel economy from this option.
Advice: Understand that this is NOT a sportscar. It's a TRUCK! If you do not understand this, you will not enjoy this vehicleWe purchased this vehicle in 2006. It was a dealer program car (I do not purchase brand new vehicles). It had about 15k miles on it. After the test drive, my wife WANTED it. It was purchased from West Texas Nissan, Odessa, TX. We've since moved back east to N. VA. Best vehicle we've ever had

Pros: Ride height, nice engine, 4x4. Handles like a full size truck. front-folding passanger seat.
Cons: Gas mileage isn't great, but didn't expect to be. should have an option for power seats, but then again that's one more thing to go wrong. Use a blanket and also get the cargo mat back interior scrathes easily. should have more active traction control.
Advice: If you want a well capable SUV with truck like ability an (Xterra) is for you. Otherwise find an alternative.This is a great all around SUV it has power, good height, and appealing interior. I haven't had a single problem and have done almost 30K miles. Not for teenagers! Make sure you compare and test drive all other models before buying. When all the seats are folded flat you have an ample amount of room to haul house hold appliances. The Xterra may not be for everyone, but i'm satisfied.

Advice: Do not buy any car from Nissan, not a customer focused companyPurchased car new. Roof rack has already rusted, plastic oxidizing (use no chemicals or car wash on car). Car has been in for engine repair twice for same problem, all 4 brakes needed warranty replacement, broken rear sensor. Nissan customer service very poor. Taking little or no interest in my customer experience. Every call begins with Consumer Affaris pretending to have no idea what I am talking about or requested. Nissan damaged my car during said repairs and refusing replacement. If your requires no work your probably ok, but heaven help you if it does. I will never buy a Nissan again. Customer service could care less about the quality of the service or repairs done. My car only has 20k miles on it. Would not cover rental car for three day engine repair due to bad parts - again warranty repair. This company has treated me horribly, and it is ridiculous that it has had to be in the shop as much as it has, and then they damaged the car.
