    2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse - GT

    Pros: Dash and controls

    Cons: blindspots on sides

Advice: This is a unique quality vehicle for someone who wants a lot of sports coupe for under 35 grand.

This Eclipse is the best ever although it took almost six months for me to decide to trade in my 2002 GT for the 2006. However, I have no regrets and only high satisfaction. It has power and control that reminds me very much of the first generation models. Fully loaded, it is priced a little on the steep side. Its fuel economy is unimpressive. It is comfortable and quiet and feels solid.

    2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse - GT

Pros: The appearance and the driving experience.

    Cons: The blind spots.

Advice: I would not recommend this car to someone who is very tall or very big. Otherwise, this car makes you happy just to be driving it...

This car is fun to drive. I love it. This is not a family car. But is great for one or two people. Very quiet, great appearance and a great sound system. I am very happy with my choice of cars.

    2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse - GT

    Pros: Looks

Cons: Where do I begin?? Overall, the easiest way to say it is lack of quality.

Advice: STAY AWAY unless you like to pay a lot of money to buy a vehicle that falls apart.

DO NOT BUY AN ECLIPSE!! We have had nothing but problems with ours since buying it new for close to $30,000 less than a year ago. Brake recalls, 4 warped rotors, 3 rattles, and a horrible, peeling, chipping paint job are just a few of the issues we are dealing with. Not to mention the lack of customer service and integrity at any Mitsubishi dealer you try to deal with. Stay away, Mitsubishi has somehow managed to put together a car that looks good but that completely lacks any quality or customer service. I would recommend not only staying away from the Eclipse, but any Mitsubishi vehicle out there. The only way to keep them from continuing to put out vehicles that fall apart and then not take responsibility for anything is to stop giving them business so they will go ahead and go under. They are already well on their way.

    2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse - GT

    Pros: Smooth, sleek body design

Cons: Small trunk and teracotta leather interior

Advice: Buy the six cylinder to enjoy the handling

The GT has excellent power and responsiveness. Visibility forward, out the side windows and out the rear is good with limited sight in the typical blind spots. Side view mirror placement is further back than expected with small mirrors. Shifting is smooth and firm. 5th is a slight reach with no feeling you're going into 3rd or 5th. 1st is easy to start out in. The ride is firm and cornering level. Braking is firm but not stiff. Engine compartment is full. The battery is located at the firewall and has a cross member covering a corner. The trunk is shallow due to the 17.7 gallon gas tank and full-size spare. Road noise is very minimal. Doors are solid with a window sealing feature. Front seats are comfortable but leave no room for rear seat foot space when the front seats are pushed back. Headroom is acceptable for the average male but not for all people. If you drive this car and aren't used to the power, you'll enjoy the acceleration. Make sure you drive the car at night to appreciate the interior lighting, gauges and headlights.
