its actually a 1998 mercury mountioneer
Pros: the seat is comfortable
Cons: how easy everything messes upmy husband insisted on getting this vehicle. all in all it has been a great vehicle. it just gets really bad gas mileage. its a v8 so of course it is suppose to, but i am not use to it. the airconditioner is all messed up. it turns on when i turn the vent on. its on no matter what i have turned on. if i turn it to the ac part itself, it makes a aweful noise and smell. the wiring is all messed up on the dash. has been from day one. the radio lights dont light up. the interior light switch is messed up. it cost way too much to fix any of these things. its very compact. not much room at all. the rear wiper want stay on. lost two so far. i just dont use it any more. there are so many things wrong with it. it has a great engine though. the transmission seems to be good. its everything else that isnt good.
Pros: Low cost of ownership
Cons: Sorry, there is nothing I do not like about this car! This auto was purchased used and has been one of the best auto I have owned in the 40 or so auto's I have owned in my life. Required little maintenance, parts are excellent, ride is supperior and I feel very safe in the auto.
This is a reliable car
Pros: tinted windows and leather seatswill get you in town or out with no problem
Great vehilcle. No major problems. Owned for 10+ years.
Good ride for the money
Pros: Comfort and drivability
Cons: The instrument cluster. I can't see the mileage indicator - a mistake in design.I have owned Lincolns for many years and this is my first ownership of a Mercury since the Sable days two decades ago. The car is very comfortable, with good cushioning in the seats. The mileage is very satisfactory and the quality, while not matching that of the Lincoln MKZ (for many thousands more) is acceptable. I recommend this car.
Great vehicle for the traveling family
Pros: The powerful V8 Engine
Cons: The gas consumptionWe love our 2006 Mercury Mountaineer, V8, 4.6 L Luxury Package SUV. It is durable classy (with the interior leather and chrome accents). We love going on long trips regardless if it is to the mountains or to the beach, Our Mountaineer allows us to haul whatever we may need for the trip and the kids as well. The downside is the Gas consumption, 15 City and 20 Highway MPG. the Upside you get a powerful V8 engine that allows you to climb hills and mountains with no hesitation. The Mountaineer is rugged and if you purchase AWD/ 4 WD Package you can practically go anywhere with your family. Great product Ford Motor Company! Can't wait for the new edition due out next year.
A Beautiful Sleeper
Pros: Excellent driving dynamics, comfort and build quality
Cons: adjustable pedals should been standard given that there is not a telscoping sterring wheelThe styling of the Mercury Sable has been derided in the automotive press for looking like a big Volkswagen Passat. That's a bad thing? Not in my book. I've owned my 2009 Mercury Sable Premier for about 6 months now and I find more to love about it every day. It is an understatedly elegant car that is comfortable, performs well, is surprisingly quick and agile and offers a lot of versatility given the huge trunk and fold flat seats. On trips it returns 30 mpg and with a 20 gallon tank you can really put the miles away. It gets outstanding safety ratings thanks in part to the fact that it is based on Volvo S80 architecture. Most people have no idea what kind of car this is - which I kind of like. It's 'stealthy' but when you hit the gas pedal the 6 speed automatic transmission kicks right down and the 263 Horsepower 3.5 liter motor responds with authority. The interior is quiet, the heated leather seats are comfortable and supportive and the Sync system is pretty cool too. Overall I am very impressed and I would not hesitate to recommewnd the Sable or it's sibling, the Ford Taurus.
