2002 Mazda MX-5 Miata - SE (M6)
Pros: handling and the dashboard
Cons: Comfort level after a few hours
Advice: buy itThis car is amazing for the price. While other sports cars offer more horsepower and amenities, who needs them? I have taken turns at 30mph and the car sticks to the road like glue. This car gives a driving experience that makes the driver 'one with the road'.If you want anything less go buy a Buick!
2002 Mazda Tribute - ES V6 (A4) 4x4
Pros: Handling and roomy interior.
Cons: The gear shift on the steering column seems a bit dated.
Advice: If you want a small SUV, this is it. But definitely get the V6, and ES and luxury package if you can.Smooth, comfortable ride. Much better than the Jeep Liberty or Nissan X-Terra, or even the similar Ford Escape. The V-6 engine is a treat--quick, powerful and smooth. (Almost as quiet as the one in my BMW 325.) Handles beautifully for a SUV. In my opinion, this is the best buy among the smaller SUVs. Very happy with it.
2002 Mazda Tribute - ES V6 (A4) 4x4
Pros: Engine and drivetrain
Cons: Placement of the ignition
Advice: If you can live without V6 power, leather & power seats and you like to picnic, then get the Honda CRVGreat power off the line. Ride is a little stiff, but thats what you would expect from an SUV. For a few bucks more get the SE and enjoy everything that goes with it. Three teenagers fit in the back with no complaints. Door panels and doors seem to be rather cheap looking and light. When you close the doors it feels like a 10k vehicle. The looks and the drivetrain got my vote over the other vehicles I looked at. Very comfortable seating positions w/the power seat. Shift lever is in the way of radio controls, rear defroster does not have auto shut off, doors do not auto lock and most important of all, do not use this SUV as a get away vehicle, the police will arrive before you can get the key into the ignition.
2002 Mazda B4000 - (M5) 4x4
Pros: I like the daytime running lights. They look really nice.
Cons: The Speakers are't too good
Advice: Get a red one. They look the bestThis is a very nice truck. Overall, the looks of it are wonderful and the confort of it is wonderful alot. My boyfriend has this truck, and I love it more than anything. It is a really nice truck.
2002 Mazda Millenia - PS
Pros: Very reliable
Cons: The ride between 20-30 mph is bumpy
Advice: This is a 2001 model not the S version but overall excelent good buy for a quality vehicleThis vehicle drove very well on the highway and overall is very comfortable. However it has some road vibrations or unsmooth ride at the lower speed ranges of 20 to 30 MPH.
2002 Mazda Protege5 - (M5)
Pros: Sporty Styling, High Performance Handling, Mazda Quality
Cons: Needs a Sportronic transmission like the Eclipse or the Mercedes E320
Advice: If you want a Mazda and can't wait for the RX8 buy this car.Wonderful Car. Fast, Sporty, Drives like a Go-Kart. Fully loaded it's the best car in its class. I traded my 2000 Celica GTS for a Black P5 and couldn't be happier. It's a little underpowered but in the curves it could hang with anything. Only complaints are minor such as wind noise with the roof rack (especiall with the sunroof open) and the stock stereo could put out a little more power but other than that it's a definite must buy.
2002 Mazda Protege - ES (M5)
Pros: Interior design and comfort.
Cons: Inadequate number of 12V outlets and limited storage.
Advice: Get the 2.0L engine.Style, power, handling, comfort, and features describe the '02 Protege ES. From the sweeping front clear halogen headlamps and fog lights to 16' alloy wheels with low-profile tires to the rear spoiler, it's pleasing to the eye. I like the interior color scheme and the carbon fiber look trim and enjoy the power moon roof. Power from the 2.0L is good paired to the 4sp w/OD and yeilds acceptable gas mileage (25/30). Handling is precise with a solid feel in corners and quick manuevers. Ride is comfortable without excessive road or engine noise. Dash and insurment layout is smart and clean. Comfortable room for 4 is good as long as 'six-footers' are in the front seats. ES model has most all features of other higher-priced and higher-model cars. We test drove Corolla, Sentra, Malibu, CR-V, Neon, and looked at many others (not all in the same line as Protege), but solidly decided on the 2002 Protege ES.
