    2007 Mazda MAZDA5 - Touring (M5)

    Pros: Utility/mpg ratio

Cons: space between second row seats makes a hole when seats are folded flat

Advice: Check out the room before you buy a bigger van or an SUV!

I've put 16K miles on my 2006 5sp which is carried over to the 2007 model year, and I just love it. Fit and finish are beyond reproach-with Mazda's famous high-wear seat fabric, quiet highway cruising, and great ergonomics. I get way better than the predicted mileage-never getting below 24.5 and averaging 27-29 in mostly around town driving. 30 mpg highway trips are not uncommon. The 5 sp. makes for fun driving, and the car handles extremely well-less body role than anything in its class. Contrary to other reports, my normal-sized friends can ride in the third row, and egress is easy with the second row seats sliding far forward. With the back 4 seats folded flat, there is enormous room-I can't understand why more people don't buy this car-perhaps becaue Mazda doesn;t advertise it!

    2006 Mazda MAZDA5 - Sport (M5)

Pros: Can out handle most pocket rockets and still match their gas mileage.

Cons: Front shelf of the driver's seat could be longer.

Advice: This may be the best deal for young families in the automotive world.

17k miles since March 06. Holds the turns, has great pick-up, and the 5 speed manuel is a blast. It carries my 2 daughters and all their stuff in comfort and lots of safety. Most impressive is the 29mpg mixed-cycle I consistently get using full-synthetic motor oil. All this for $17,000.

    2006 Mazda MAZDA5 - Sport (M5)

Pros: handling, ride and comfort.quality build and mazda reliability.

    Cons: nothing yet!

Advice: drive it and it will sell its self.

very smooth and controled at any speed.the mazda5 handles exceptionally well and is great fun to drive on the back country roads.the mazda5 is quiet and feels solid on even the course, bumpy and uneven roads but you do notice that it has a firm suspension set up for its great handling but nothing unsettlling.for what the mazda5 is,it handles well has good and zippy performance, has practical size and space and really has no rival for the niche mazda found for the little 5.you won't go wrong with this purchase and i know,i love my mazda5 and would not recommend it if it did'nt have all the qualities of zoom zoom !!

    2006 Mazda MAZDA5 - Sport (M5)

    Pros: The five speed.

Cons: Not enough 'front bias' for a front wheel drive (55/45), great for 'front wheel drive burnouts'.

Advice: Seriously recommended, most sport and utility for class and price.

Literally, the best vehicle for everything.

    2006 Mazda MAZDA5 - Touring (M5)

    Pros: Seats 6

Cons: No MP3 input. Cigarette lighter port is near the floor. No 110v jack. MPG.

Advice: Splurge on the Touring model. The sunroof, fog lights and auto climate are a bargain.

Want to carry six people without driving a huge, gas-guzzling SUV or minivan? This is the only car the size of a compact sedan that seats six in the US market. Four passengers travel in supreme comfort & can haul 44 cubic feet of gear at the same time. With all four rear seats folded the cargo area doubles, allowing you to haul an amazing 75+ cf of stuff. It's a bargain with a sun roof and the only automatic climate system in a car this inexpensive. Driving the automatic in manual mode is fun and lets you get the gas milage up above the respectable 24/27 the car is rated. It's a good looking vehicle and unique in its class.

    2006 Mazda MAZDA5 - Sport (M5)

    Pros: the driver/passenger panels

Cons: unless seats 5/6 are folded flat, not much cargo room

Advice: go out and test drive it and not just once!

When I saw the ads on this vehicle I was transfixed by it's versatility and appearance. However, the ads whether on TV or in the papers, neither do it justice once you see it in person and drive it! Considering it's classed a 'mini-minivan', it's nimble, quite smooth and drives comfortably. Coming from owning a '00 Protege and accustomed to a sedan, driving it was fun and actually much peppier than my car. It's overall look is very attractive and definitely not a soccer-mom SUV/wagonish appeal. I'm researching it extensively though and waiting out all the kinks (since it IS new for '06) and scoping out it's competition before I buy.
