Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
Pros: The visibility from the driver's seat.
Cons: The gas mileage compared the my last car (Saturn L1 - 24 mpg).
Advice: EnjoyThe Discovery handles well in traffic and is well behaved in a moderate crosswind while on the interstate. It has power to merge into the interstate traffic from a short entrance ramp and handles well on the turns. The seats are very comfortable and the head/leg room is more than generous.
Pros: Y Spoke Wheels / Overall clean look
Cons: Firm ride
Advice: You want to play...You have to pay! it anit cheapFrom a 1996 Ford Tauras, to a 2003 X.5 3.0 (added on the 4.4 y spoke wheels seperately, $2,400). Quick and Classiy! Blends nicely into the North Scottsdale, all that, crowd...
Pros: Off road ability
Cons: Where do I start?
Advice: Be careful...Sorry folks...I thought I had found the vehicle for me, but I have been burdened with so many problems, that I'm seriously considering getting rid of my Freelander. Where do I start...2 burnt headlamps, new transmission, new air fan, squeeky steering wheel and worn out brakes (all in a year and a half). The service in Calgary is great, but the product is very questionable. I can't say it's worth the price. I'm in Canada and don't have a US zip code.
Pros: Sportronic Shifting Mode
Cons: Lack of Sunroof (I only have the base model, though)
Advice: If you need to get through the urban grind Monday through Friday, yet still want to tear up the hills on the weekend...buy the Freelander.I am a student at UCLA, so the funds situation is usually bleak (I'm talking about Ramen noodles for dinner 4 out of 7 nights a week). So, imagine my surprise when I found that I could get a Land Rover for under 30K. The Freelander makes me feel like a high roller, without having the 401K and trust funds to back up the assumption. The sport shifting on my Freelander S is BUTTERY smooth, and a MAJOR improvement over what I was driving before...a bare bones Toyota Tacoma. The power windows and cruise control are certainly appreciated. This SUV is quick, despite weighing in at almost 2.5 tons. BUY THIS VEHICLE!!! You won't regret it.
Pros: The hill descent control
Cons: Is very good in all aspects, I love all in this Car
Advice: This is 'The best Mini SUV ever !!!'Is very good in all terrain and the best SUV in the road.
Pros: auto-standard transmission
Cons: ugly standard wheels
Advice: get the sport package (much nicer wheels) for 3.0 or 4.4 modelsWent from a 540i with 4.4 litre 6-speed manual to an X5 with a 3.0 6 cylinder automatic and missed the extra giddy-up at first, but now find 3.0 sufficient and am saving untold $$ on speeding tickets. Rides and accelerates beautifully for a 'truck.'
Pros: seat memory
Cons: not enough add on accessories
Advice: more accessories for all the modelsis a wonderful vehicle to drive
