2002 Acura RSX - Type S (M6)
Pros: New engine.
Cons: blind spots.
Advice: Be prepared to be blown away!An excellent replacement for the Integra, upping the ante in the process. I bought a 1999 Integra GS-R two years ago and have loved it. But 15 minutes in this car and I'm seriously considering trading the 'old' girl in. I love the changes, from the nasty new growl and very quick rise to the 8000 RPM redline of the i-VTEC to the improved stiffness and reduced body roll of the MacPherson struts during cornering. Nice low end torque now. Where I had to give the Integra a fair amount of gas to get going from a standing start to keep it from stalling, the RSX almost leaps off the line in comparison. The car feels weightier and more glued to the road without sacrificing agility. This car feels much more like a luxury sports car should feel. I love the racecar inspired ammenities (small diameter steering wheel, racestyle bucket seats, racecar style gauges, etc.) They also finally have some decent cup holders in this car. There are a couple of blind spots, but the larger side mirrors can be adjusted to compensate adequately. The new transmission is a little tricky to get used to but shifting is smooth as glass. I wish they had put lower profile 17 inchers on it instead of the 16's. Also, heated seats (hey, it is a luxury coupe right?) would be a nice touch on a cold winter day. These are minor quibbles though. All around a great. Test drive it, you won't be disappointed!
2002 Acura RSX - Type S (M6)
Pros: The power and quickness. It purrs like a kitten and growls like a lion when you want it to!!
Cons: No arm rest for for long trips.
Advice: Buy it. Great value and you will have fun with it.Awesome! The Type S has great short throw shift gear. Let me just say I've raced this car hard on the freeway and backroads and it is amazing. The car will hug hairpin turns with great stability. The bucket seats help you stay in place with any hard sharp cornering.
2002 Acura RSX - Base (M5)
Pros: 6 Speed. The 6th gear helps at highway speed. Better gas mileage with low RPM operation.
Cons: The two big blind spots. The car has 2 large mirrors to fix this problem.
Advice: Replace the shift knob with the optional metal one. If you get a cargo net have the dealer do it. It's a pain to install. Test drive this car!RSX Type S Smooth and powerful. This car has power at low RPM all the way to the 8000 RPM Redline. Shifting action is the best I have ever felt. The gates are close and the throws short. The clutch is easy to work for smooth yet fast shifts. At highway speeds in 6th gear the car still pulls hard. It's easy to find yourself doing well over 80 MPH without realizing it. The climate control works very well. The seats wrap around you and hold you in place when cornering hard. I didn't know a car could feel or ride like this for under 25,000. Amazing!
2002 Acura TL - Base
Cons: Navigational system does not cover most areas. I should have purchased the Lexus
Advice: If you want a Navigational system purchase the Lexus or BMW. I am sorry I bought the Navi systemI purchased the Accura TL Type S a month ago. One of my main reasons for the purchase was the navagational system. That was a mistake. The navagation system is almost useless. Unless your destination is in the middled of New York City or Washington DC you will not find the address. I live just outside of Washington DC and when I want a location in the suburbs it is very rare that the address will be located. I went to New Jersey (Freehold area) and could not find a single location, could not even use cross streets. When I try to find golf courses in Maryland, Virginia and Pennsylvania I have been able to find one out of twenty. Almost all of the ones I could not find have been there for more than ten years so they are not new. When I compared the Accura system to the BMW, the BMW had every site I wanted. You see, BMW navagation system is broken down by area, Northeast, Mid-Atlantic etc. and therefore has much more detail. Accura covers the whole country. Well, I don't need Texas or California. On a BMW you can purchase the additional areas on DVDs for a couple of hundred dollars. In summary, if your reason to purchase is the navigation system don't buy the Accura. 2002 Acura TL - Type S
Pros: Navigational system
Cons: Small spare tire
Advice: Get an option with NAVISeats are very supportive and comfortable, Acura TL-s has a firm ride and very predictable and accurate steering. Super acceleration and Vehicle Stability Control is there for bad road conditions. All of it keeps you feel good and safe. Navigation system is easy and fun to use. This is a great car,
2002 Acura TL - Type S

Advice: Buy the Type S - For $2000 the performance is increased significantlyGreat balance between engine performance and handling. The car is looks conservative but surprisingly fast and refined. You should buy the Type S, for $2000 the features are well worth it. Even with the Type S we are getting 22 MPG in the City and 30 MPG on the highway - not bad for a 260 HP sedan!
2002 Ford Thunderbird - Premium (110A)
Pros: The overall styling. Classic lines, retro features like the grill and porthole hardtop.
Cons: The interior is rather mundane compared to the high style exterior.
Advice: Order now and expect a long wait unless you're willing to pay a big premium.Ford hasn't let anyone test drive this car yet (3/9/01). However, based on information about the Lincoln LS - which shares the same powertrain and platform - it should be a good performance, nice handling, smooth ride. The shortened chassis reportedly caused some rear-end stability problems, but Ford pushed back the Job1 date to 5/21/01 to remedy that. The real difficulty with this car will be finding a way to test drive before purchase. Most dealers are already overbooked and charging a hefty premium to would-be buyers. The best I can say is the clean, classic styling and Thunderbird heritage makes this a must-have for the enthusiast, and hope its drivability lives up to the reputation of the brand name.
