New Lincoln Pictures
As one of the country’s most storied luxury brands works to reinvent itself for a new generation of customers, our new Lincoln pictures are showing some early fruits of those efforts—with styling cues that originated in the new Lincoln Design Center, which opened recently on the Ford campus in Dearborn, Mich.
There, some 150 dedicated Lincoln designers are working together on a fresh vision for Lincoln, as explained by Raj Nair, vice president of Global Product Development for the Ford Motor Company: “We have spent considerable time to develop strong integrated design, engineering and product programs into a common Product Development vision for Lincoln.
“Lincoln’s advantage is we can build on the company’s tremendous global product development resources and ensure we continually innovate to develop the best technology and apply it to support the unique Lincoln difference.”
Added Max Wolff, the brand’s design director: “We also made it a priority to fit interior and exterior design teams into one space because often they are two separate work streams and therefore, two different sensibilities. Now everyone collaborates on one harmonious vehicle.”
The results of this approach are on display in both the 2014 Lincoln lineup and Autobytel’s new Lincoln pictures, in the form of new signature styling cues like the brand’s panoramic glass roof, providing one of the largest daylight openings in the industry, and the exclusive Lincoln Drive Control technology. That latter system offers Lincoln owners a sophisticated push-button setup for operating basic transmission functions, as well as a notable differentiator from the competition.
