Pros: Awesome handling
Advice: Buy one if you can!A stunning car.
Cons: Hard to read guages because of red pointers on a black background
Advice: Buy it and you will love it. Search until you find a dealer willing to bargain.Great Car. I replaced my 1997 ES300 with a 2002 Lexus ES300. Lexus has added many creature comforts to this car. The fit and trim is excellent. The car is roomy and quiet. However, I have two complaints. The car sometimes hesitates and flutters upon acceleration. Also, the guages are sometimes difficult to read in the sunlight because the pointers are red on a black background. The Lexus engineers should have known better. My Saturn has white pointers on a black blackground and provides great contrast.
Cons: I couldnt afford the navigation system
Advice: take it for a test drive before any other and you will be well pleasedAfter taking a trip from Atlanta to Newport News, I am convinced that this is the finest vehicle I have ever owned. ( others; mercedes 190 1988, volvo 240 1989 [saved my son life], volvo v40 2000, volkwagen quattum 1988) It has the space, the comfort, convenience, driveability my wife and I were looking for. After looking at the Mercedes E320, S320 we settled on the Lexus ES300.
Pros: The comfey seats.
Cons: The bumpiness.
Advice: Buy it!Totaly tubeular dude!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pros: Smooth operating convertible top - it's a Lexus.
Cons: My wife doesn't let me drive it often enough.
Advice: Go for it - you'll never regret it.Outstanding vehicle. We have owned M- B, Audi, other Lexus and other quality cars; this one clearly is the best.
Pros: My favorite feature about the car would have to be the motorized hardtop feature. It has the security of a hardtop with the versatilty of a convertible.
Cons: My least favorite thing about this car is definitely the low profile wheels and run flat tires. It feels as though you are riding on steel wheels at times.
Advice: I would recommend waiting a little while until the waiting lists die down. Prices are non-negotiable due to strong demand. The transmission is very smooth and responsive & Seats are very comfortable. This car is definitely an eye grabber. Vehicle has much more body flex with the top down and ride is much firmer than other Lexi. I would recomend a slightly higher profile tire (it has 40 series) that is not as vunerable to poor road surfaces.
Cons: too cramped in the rear passenger area
Advice: look into getting the A4 quattro 6sp for the same priceThe car handles nicely, but it is missing a lot of the amenities that the Audi A4 has. Such as, memory seats, heated rear, dual climate control, 6sp, awd, power trunk release, air bag release based on impact, rear seats fold down, 12-way electronically adjustable seats, free oil changes and scheduled services and a lot of rear legroom. The Lexus' rear passenger space is very limited and the seats do not come down to have access to the rear (only a ski pass-through in the armrest).
