Pros: comfort interior
Cons: no trunk rook
Advice: This is not the expensive land rover. be preparred for that and you will be happydrives great on road. engine is a bit slow from stop but accelerates well at higher speeds. No problems, 2005 model seems to be better done than previous models. only complaint is the zero room for luggage and stuff.
Cons: Lack of lumbar support on the new 2006 model I've ordered
Advice: Enjoy it, and don't be discouraged if you have an initial problem, LR will fix it.I rented an LR3 from Hertz, spent several days four-wheeling in the Rockies. Also quite a bit of time on the pavement, nice windy mountian highways in the front-range. I truly let it fly through the entire envelope - after all, this is a rental, they gotta take it back :) One Word: Awesome! I do believe the LR3 is the best allround performing automobile I have ever driven. This thing has it all, and at a level nothing can compare with. Features galore - that actually work. Powerful, ton's of space everywhere, Jaguar smoothness, incredible handling on road, and mind boggling off. 8 air bags, super tight and strong chassis, 6-sp tranny with sport and manual modes. Low range 3:1 transfer, 2 lockers, 5 special off-road programs, air suspension with 4 heights, and oh my god 13 inches of wheel travel! ad infinitum. A superb Nav system, excellent stereo, blue-tooth cell with docking charger that actually fits the phone you already have! It truly bests my my 2005 Mercedes in every way, by an order of magnitude. How can this possibly be a Land Rover? I'm warning you about the LR3's Siren song, drive one and you won't be able to stay away...
Pros: engine purrs
Cons: plastic in cocckpit
Advice: choose a good dealerThe Land Rover Dealer sucked and PAG should seek oot premium auto dealers to distribute their SUVs. The drive is awesome and aesthetics top notch.
Pros: Full time 4x4
Cons: Gas hog
Advice: If you are wanting a SUV and gas expense is not an option, then this is the SUV for you. Before I purchased the Discovery I owned a heavy duty 3/4 ton truck. So getting used to the weight was not an issue. The handling was great and the interior was acceptable. I've owned mine for 2 yrs and have not spent a dime on servicing. The warrentee on Landrovers is excepional. When i do have it serviced (every 7500 niles) the service dept takes very good care of my Landrover, making sure to fix everything I brought it in for. Free of charge.
Pros: On board Navigation
Cons: Not having a power/automatic steering wheel positioner
Advice: Recommend not even considering LR3! (LR3 priced too high wrt RRS ride, options and appearance)Purchased RRS HSE (Java Black on Tan) with cold weather pkg, sirrus and blue tooth on a Monday afternoon in Houston, TX and drove to Los Angeles over the next two days (1600 miles). Enjoyed every minute of it. Smooth, quite, responsive and quick for its weight. Previously owned BMW X5 4.4 and RRS beats it 'hands down'. Dealership where purchased was great. Overall I am a very satisfied customer.
Advice: dont buy new find a good used for half the pricei really love this land rover i bought mine used and got a steal for this super suv.
Pros: The whole package.
Cons: What's not to like.
Advice: Don't hesitate.Smooth and powerful. Interior is elegant. Killer audio system.
