Pros: Price to value relationship
Cons: Exterior styling is very bland
Advice: Get oneI sell cars(17 years} in a multi-line dealership that also sells a well known SUV who's initials are J--. Kia's new models have made a huge leap in quality and enginering, while keeping the 'bang for a buck' at the highest level. Put me in the 'satisfied' column!
Pros: all the standard features
Cons: oil filter is in a bad location (to change)
Advice: go for the heated seats and the daytime running lights, once you drive this truck you will love it!!Went into the dealership looking at the 4 cyc sportage ......left with the v6 ex model and love it.....drives and handels awesome.....very impressed with all the standard features of this truck, with all the optional equipt. you can always upgrade later if you want, there is 6k miles on the truck and no problems or complaints as of yet.. this trucks stays running all day long a very comfortable truck even for long road trips, the back seats are very roomy for adults with no leg room problems to worry about....Awesome, awesome,awesome.............
Pros: there are none
Cons: it is not reliable
Advice: DO NOT BUY A KIAIt's a great car for a few months and then things begin to break. In the past five years the car has been in the shop over 12 times. Usually for the same thing again and again. The customer service is horrible. The sportage is not good quality and I would suggest nobody ever buy any kia!
Cons: cannot find a flaw -- sorry -- no criticism
Advice: price shop and compare to toyotaI am wild about my new Sportage! It is comfortable, nicely appointed inside and has such a sporty look. I really can't think of a negative aspect because it has been a joy to drive (I guess that is why I am on a website dedicated to writing car reviews!). The warranty (10 yrs., 100K miles) was a big selling feature and we were out the door at around $24K so the payment is wonderfully manageable. I live in an area with a lot of hills within the city, but the engine never drags. We made a long trip in it and never experienced 'leg fatigue' -- in short, we are happy owners!
Pros: does get good gas milage
Cons: the overall drivability(is that a word?)
Advice: dont do it(kick the salesman in the shins that suggests it and run)(1 star was the lowest rating.i would give it less if it gave me the option) Where to begin, no power on hills or when passing..ive had mine in the dealership 4 times the longest being 3 weeks for a mirad of engine problems-wich finnally resulted in the entire engine being replaced..since then my door sensors have all gone out leaving me to deal with a constant beeping as if the door is open..my driverside power window works great..the other 3 windows work when they want to..sometimes going down...but takin up to 3 days before it decideds to go back up for me..ok handeling...i am a verry safe driver with an impecable driving record..at speeds under 50 ive had it on two wheels on two different occasions from breaking while in a corner.its majorly top heavy.i put 2 100lb sand bags in the rear wich makes a big difference.this being the second sportage ive owned i will refer to the old saying'fool me once shame on you fool me twice...well you know the rest
Pros: LEATHER HEATED SEATS AND RADIO
Advice: GET THE EX YOU GET ALOT OF EXTRAS. WITH OUT PAYING A HIGH PRICE!!!I LOVE THE WAY MY SPORTAGE HANDLE AND LOOK!! THE SOUND SYSTEM IS GREAT. I HAVE THE 6 DISC AND TAPE PLAYER.
Pros: The stereo!
Cons: No temperature gauge.
Advice: Get a good deal on an '05 while you still can! Get it loaded, so worth the price, it's crazy to sell them at that price!I just got the 05' Sportage EX Luxury Package V6 2-WD. Heated leather seats and a 6 in dash CD player and sun roof. It's silver with black leather. I still can't believe it's a Kia and no one else can either! I traded in an '03 Infiniti G35, yes that's right! For the Sportage and LOVE IT. I like the handling, the smooth ride and have everything in my Kia that I had in that expensive Infiniti! And at 1/2 the price!
