    2006 Kia Rio - Base (M5)

    Pros: The lumbar feature

    Cons: nothing

    Advice: Buy one

I bought a 2004 Kio Rio and it is wonderful, I love the ride and the fact that I got a great deal on it and it still has some factory warrenty left on it

    2006 Kia Rio - Base (M5)

Pros: Great reliability. Had it for 9 months and still waiting for some defect to pop up.

Cons: Terrible speakers, but then I declined to upgrade the sound system

Advice: There is no better value when it comes to car buying. It's worth a lot more than what it costs.

We purchased the 2006 Rio5 with the convenience package (electric everything, minus the sports stuff). Oh, and heated seats. The body feels well constructed. The doors close quiet and firm like an expensive car. Seats are comfortable and lots of room. I've driven german built cars all my life and due to budget limitations I went with Kia. However, other than the brand appeal and a bit of power, I feel like this is as good a car any mid-priced european car. Test drive it if you don't believe me. The car drives well and is peppy. Sometimes leaves you wanting more power, but one really can't ask for more for this price.

    2006 Kia Rio - LX (M5)

Pros: Comfortable seats. I'm tall female with low back problem. Seat height is perfect too.

Cons: Car is somewhat noisy while driving and can't see well out back window when raining

Advice: I'm buying another one as soon as my insurance settles

Responsive, handles well in turns, adequate horsepower, somewhat noisy while driving. Don't like the angle of the rear window when it rains. I like the style and appearance of the car but rear window needs a wiper if it's going to remain at the current 2006 angle. Also, I bought my Sapphire Blue, (I changed it to Seahawk Blue) '06 Rio LX and 29 days later was in an accident and was T-Boned on both sides. Unfortunately, my new car was totaled and also the driver side airbag did not deploy. The only airbags to deploy were on the passenger side, where nobody was sitting. I however, was basically unhurt, bad bruise on left arm from hitting the vertical bar between doors. I question why my door bags didn't deploy but considering what hit me, the car did a good job of protecting me. Only time will tell about the vehicle quality. Will know more in 5 years.

    2002 Kia Rio - (M5) Sedan

    Pros: Power brakes???...what other features???

Cons: Blinding snow storm cruise control. (throttle linkage frozen)

Advice: Since you will be buying it used. Check it over well to ensure that previous owner did not trash it.

Bought this car used with 7,000 miles it now has 65,000. The car is as basic as you can get, which is all I wanted. Car has the 5 speed manual, no A/C or power steering. My gas mileage has been around 34 to almost 38 MPG. On the interstate the cars runs 80 + MPH easy. Have taken it up to 100 in a quick spirt, but dont recommend doing this for after 80 it starts getting a little loose. Very impressed with this cars reliability and ecomomy. If you folks remember the Ford Festiva and Aspire. Those were both KIAs built for Ford. I have only used Mobil 1 in my car and I plan to keep it around till it has well over 100,000 miles on it. I may keep it for one of my kids to drive. My car has had NO mechanical issues what so ever. Very nice to have a reliable car now days with the hi cost of labor. I would recommend this car for anyone looking for decent reliable transportation. As good as this car is, it is not of course perfect. The original tires had weak sidewalls and I lost one to a sidewall puncture. Wish 5th gear was a little higher for I find myself from time to time searching for the next gear or checking to make sure I was in fifth. Once after driving 150 miles in a snow storm with white out conditions. The car failed to slow down. Used the clutch and higher gear to keep the engine from over revving as I pulled it off to the side of the road. The snow was so fine that day it got into the engine compartment and built up aroung the throttle linkage keeping the throttle from returning to the idle position. Worked this loose with my hand and returned to driving with no more problems. In the cars defense I would consider that I was driving my it in extremely poor conditions. Most people would never even be out on the roads in that kind of weather or be on the interstate barely seeing the tractor trailer ahead of you for all the snow that was being kicked up. A simple plastic shield around the throttle body would easilly correct this issue. Overall this is just plain and simple a great car for the money.

    2006 Kia Rio - LX (M5)

    Pros: Look,gas mileage,features

Cons: Not enough power for my taste but good enought for a 110HP

Advice: Take the LX(power windows, powewr locks, air cond.,etc...) its worth it for the price difference

Hi I just bought a Kia Rio 2006 LX full equipment Just to let you know that for the price and warranty that Kia offers in my opinion you cant go wrong, sure the honda civic sedan is probably a better car as more power better road driving then the rio sedan but you are not buying a race car or a collecter item your buying a compact sedan and with the same equipment the civic cost about 5000$ more here in canada and on top of that the garantty doesnt match the Kia's. So i think you have to be stupid to waste 5000$ more for a compact. The car drives smooth, you can't even hear the motor when its idling. The motor is not too powerful but for the price its pretty good, the quality of this car is incredible. Overall for the price and warranty you can't go wrong.

    2005 Kia Rio - (M5) Sedan

    Pros: CD player

    Cons: everything else

    Advice: Don't buy

I bought this car mostly for the gas millage which has been a disappointment. The best so far has been 30 miles per gallon but that was using premium. Use mid grade or below and forget it. We have owned this vehicle for 4 months the windows whistle in the wind, we have stalled 3 times, and forget trunk space.
