    2011 Kia Optima

    Sweet Ride

    Pros: Styling

    Cons: N/A

We have only owned the car for 2 weeks and have yet to make a 'trip' in it, but after driving small SUVs and 'little toy cars' for many years, this appears to be an excellent car...especially when factoring in the price.

    Electrical Problems

Pros: the body style and color

    Cons: electrical problems

I bought this Kia new. After 3 years it developed electrical problems. I took it to the dealer, they said nothing was wrong with it, bought a new battery. Doors would lock and I couldn't get in or out of the car. Replaced door locks. More dead batteries, replaced the alternator, more dead batteries. Replaced relay switches, more dead batteries. Headlights come on in the middle of the night and no one has been in the car. They only made these repairs at my insistence that something had to be causing the battery to die. They always say there's nothing wrong with the car just bad battery. I have replaced the battery 4 times. They just didn't want to take the time to find the real problem. It's a beautiful car and very comfortable but I am really tired of being stranded and must get rid of it. You can be sure I will never own another Kia.

    2007 Kia Optima

Best vehicle I have spent time in.

    Pros: Overall feeling of quality

Cons: I could go for more supportive seats

My Optima EX fully loaded has been a complete satisfaction. After 3 years it still gives me that 'new' feel when I drive it. It does not do any one thing exceptionally but does everything well. The quality and reliability has been better than any Honda or Toyota I have had. After driving many rentals from various brands I thoroughly enjoy getting back in my Optima. Again, the long term quality stands out. I have no desire to upgrade after 3 years...this has never been the case with any other vehicle I have had. It is not the highest performer out there but it performs well with total smoothness.

    2007 Kia Optima

Pros: Has a lot of room

Cons: Not enough pickup when the air conditioner is running

Good car but doesn't hold it's value like other cars. Paid $17,000 three years ago and now it is only worth $7,000.........not a good value in my opinion. Other cars hold their value longer.

    2008 Kia Optima

    NICE CAR FOR THE $

    Pros: audio/mp3 input

    Cons: shift gate- HATE it!

The engine performs well and even has good fuel economy at 55-65MPH. The transission is fair but the downshift are somewhat abrupt and the accelorator is very abrupt as well (takes getting used to). The shif gate is atrocious. It is absolutely the worst thing about the car! If you need to get from drive to reverse quickly, forget it. The shift gate makes this virtually impossible! Seats are fairly comfortable and the car has ample leg room for someone like myself (260lbs., 5'11'). Many nice ammenities for a mid-size budget vehicle. The dash lighting is also very nice.
