Pros: Performance: Turning ratio and low road noise
Cons: Rear view
Advice: Shop priceand financeThe SUV is quiet, low amount of road noise. I had a 4Runner and it had wind and drive train noise that had me cranking up the radio. The Grand Cherokee's Steering wheel controls are slick. Plenty of grocery room aft without knocking down the rear seats. I have only one negative and that is rear view. The rear window is blocked out somewhat by the headrests. I will get used to the limited rear view, I have less in my Caddy, Northstar. By the way I compared this and test drove the Caddy, Escalade. The Grand Cherokee wins hands down, Caddy is too big and still a GMC truck, nothing 'sporty'. This exceeded my expectations in options, I have it loaded, even the 17' wheels. No buyers remorse, it is fun to drive. I can also flat tow it behind my Safari Motor Home
Pros: The reinforced steel cage.
Cons: The door opening width.
Advice: Its a great nimble 'small' suv with lots of interior room. The Jeep Liberty accelerates quickly and manuveurs like a sports car. I am getting close to 20 mpg on the 3.7l v-6 engine. It has more leg and head room than the Grand Cherokee, which is a plus since I am 6'3'.
Pros: Easy to read control panel/remote control for the back window
Cons: Reaching over the tire to get into the back.
Advice: Drive one, it's worth it.My husband and I wanted a new vehicle. What we wanted was a 4x4, with towing ability and a comfortable ride. That was a challenge. My husband and I searched out everything from A to Z, test drove them as well. somethings were too mushy, others were too truck like. While on our search and distroy mission my husband looked at a Liberty, then he asked if I liked the way it looked. I was taken by the look. We went on a test drive and we were sold. It has a smooth ride, not too mushy and not too truck like. It responds well to stepping on it in traffic conditions. We towed a trailer with it and it was just great, the ride didn't change at all, still smooth. Can't wait for a good snow, then we can play with the 4 wheel drive!
Pros: remote opening rear door.
Cons: That the head lights do not have day light running lights and you have to remember to turn them off when you park.
Advice: Get the V-6 engine.I have driven this vehicle in all kinds of freeway and city driving and it has been wonderful. It has plenty of power for merging onto freeways. I have towed a small trailer and the tow package worked great. The fit and finish of the vehicle is excellent. I have truly enjoyed the Liberty and am looking forward to the first snow, so I can try out the four wheel drive.
Pros: Power/acceleration, and the raised view.
Cons: Not being able to find the options I want in my area.
Advice: If you want rugged, w/power and comfort, this is it.Although everything on the Internet says that both engines are available in the 5-speed manual, the dealer (just north of Philadelphia) said that they won't be avaliable until the end of the year. Having driven sticks for the last eight years, I was leery of what kind of power and acceleration differences the automatic transmission would have. Now that I've test-driven 3.7L V6, I'm not worried at all. The acceleration from standing-still and the passing power were the same as my current car (3.1L V6 5-speed manual Chevy Cavalier), if not better. And the ride was nice and smooth, especially over all the potholes in my area. The only negatives - the view out of the rear-view mirror is tiny (get used to looking over your shoulder), and, if you're used to anti-lock brakes, you definitely want to get them as an option with the Liberty. Other than that, it's a GREAT vehicle.
Pros: I like the good view of the road and the cup holders in the back doors.
Cons: The tire in the center of the back door.
Advice: Test drive other vehicles and you'll appreciate the Liberty design.I really like the way the Liberty looks and feels. It is a sporty vehicle. CUDOS to the Jeep designers.
Pros: THE RADIO CONTROLS ON THE BACK OF THE STEERING WHEEL
Cons: THEY DON'T COME WITH STEPS
Advice: IF YOU WANT TO BE NOTICED THIS IS THE TRUCK FOR YOUI LOVE MY NEW LIBERTY THE HANDLING IS GREAT THE RIDE IS COMFY AND THE LOOK IS VERY DIFFERENT . ALTHOUGH I DID NOT GET A GREAT DEAL ON THE LIBERTY IT IS WELL WORTH THE MONEY I'M ONLY DISSAPOINTED THEY DIDN'T OFFER THE SUNROOF THIS EARLY .
