    2004 Jaguar X-Type - 2.5 (M5)

Pros: The Style and Extremly well built interior, and the Hot looks if decked out right.

    Cons: The weaker engine

Advice: Buy the base model and fix it up yourself.

Dear fellow drivers, I had to let everyone know, I have two cars a 2004 Jag. Also a much cheaper 2004 Hyundai Sonata. I bought the Sonata as a second car with money from a settlement. I put a little cash into the Sonata tinted windows and 17 inch chrome sport wheels and sport tires of course. My Jag cost about 4 times what my Sonata cost. Believe it or not my Jag. stays in the garage most of the time, and it isn't because im scarad to get the Jag dirty. The Sonata handles much better and sense I put the wheels and tires on the Sonata.I get more looks in the Sonata than I ever got in the Jag. I know thats crazy. Really I liked the look of the Jag. so I bought one. The Sonata reminded me of the Jag.only a better warranty. To be honest the interior seems to be better made.I have already hasd some problems with the Jag. after only 16,000 miles and the Sonata is tight as a drum. The engine of the Jag. is only slightly stronger than the Sonata. I'll take the better gas millage right now anyway. I think I'll sell the Jag. and buy a house, the Sonata is all I need. Not to many people know about the Sonatas yet!! In my opinion the Sonata already puts to shame the Hondas and the Toyotas of the world oh don't forget Nissian. I'm not sure what Hyundai did to jump up and pass many of the most popular cars, but they did and fast. Jerry JDFagan1017@msn.com

    2003 Jaguar X-Type - 2.5 (M5)

    Pros: AWD

Cons: single cup holder and so so FM Radio

Advice: Expensive to maintain. Get extended waranty

I love the car. Its my first Jag. Drives exceptionally well in snow. People stop and turn to look at the car. It is very attractive. I am a perfectionest and I take the car to Jaguar Service folks for any issues. So far the 2002 model has been good overall. Jaguar had one recall on the 2002 model in which they upgraded lots of things based on the 2003 model. The windsheild wipper nozzels leak which I am getting fixed now. My car has 27K miles on it and has been overall good. City gas milage is poor but hwy is OK. Make sure you put 92+ octane for better performance. I am thinking of trading for a 2004 or 05 model.

    2002 Jaguar X-Type - 2.5L (M5)

    Pros: Smooth and quiet ride.

    Cons: Reliability.

    Advice: Don't.

In less than 30,000 miles the following have been replaced. Trunk latch, drive shaft, shift lever, shift gate, drive shaft (again!), all dashboard instruments and automatic transmission. While the car is a pleasure to drive and the dealer has been very accommodating the reliability is obviously terrible and this is the first and last Jaguar for me.

    2002 Jaguar X-Type - 2.5L (M5)

    Pros: AWD

    Cons: Quality

Advice: DO NOT BUY/LEASE the Germans do it better.

Having done my research on various vehicles,I took the chance and leased an X Type....Big Mistake...... The AWD, gas mileage and handling are decent but the quality of the vehicle is dreadful. New gearbox, fuel tank, alternator, various pumps & valves for fuel system, headlamps blown (3rd set) seats rock, sunroof has a mind of its own, failed parking brake, trunk lock malfunction...the list goes on and on ...Check out other customer reviews, some of the problems I have encountered (gearbox, fueltank)are not exclusive to my vehicle..Badly made in the UK

    2002 Jaguar X-Type - 3.0L (A5)

    Pros: Great handling

Cons: Stereo system is just average

Advice: Spend a little more than for a Camry/Accord and get a real car

Have had my 2002 X-type, Phoenix Red, 3.0, 5-speed for two years. No problems except that I'm constantly bothered by people asking about it and telling me how cool it looks. Excellent handing, acceleration and ride. Beautiful leather and wood interior. Much more comfortable than BMW 3, A4, Volvo S60 that I compared to. Please do not buy- it is nice to have a car you do not see on every street corner.

    2003 Jaguar X-Type - 2.5 (M5)

    Pros: Handling

Cons: Radio, although the CD sounds better

    Advice: Go for the manual

I've had my 2.5 manual transmission for six months now, and it's been a gas. Lots of fun to drive - the all wheel drive is a plus and the handling is great. No problems at all.

    2002 Jaguar X-Type - 2.5L (M5)

Pros: Ride / Handling/and All Wheel Drive

Cons: stiff clutch tricky to engage slowly- I got use to it

Advice: automatic and maybe the 3.0

Wow, I love this car, however it was in the shop for a check engine light, even though it took 3 trips to find the fuel vacuum leak, I got treated like Royalty and a LOANER JAG ta boot! Drivers electric mirror was a bit slow and jerky and it got replaced. The 5 speed has a touchy clutch, but I knew that when I baught it' Sound system is just ok again I knew that when I baught it. Over all value and looks,I give it a 10. I think I I could see me in a 2004... Oh ya, did I mention, Brakes and Handling a 10+? It's a head turner for sure.
