The New 2011 Jaguar XJ Supercharged
Pros: The 470 Horsepower of sheer elegance and guts
Cons: It would be nice to have a real instrument cluster, but heh, we live in a world of graphics.Wow, what a car. This is the first time a bought a car sight unseen. The car far exceeds my expectations. I previously owned a 1998 XJL. Yes, I had problems with the 1998 but Jag fixed them all without a fuss (including replacing the transmission). The 2011 is far superior in interior materials and design. The new exterior is very striking and worthy of a car of this stature. The 470 HP is very responsive and gutsy. For the weight/HP ration, the car screams performance. On the highway, it certainly provide good gas mileage. I am averaging 18 combined. The are minor glitches but nothing to gripe about. Yes, I would buy this car again. Overall, I love the looks, stance and interior. My true test is that I enjoy washing the car every weekend to admire the 'cat' for all perspectives. It doens't meow, but growls with purrfection.
But the Rattles and squeaks
Pros: Blind spot monitor is superb. Love the gear shift disc too.
Cons: The rattles, the interior finish, the noise in the cabin. poor manufactureI bought one of the first XF's. Frost Blue. A good looking great performing car!. Exterior is superb, the interior design beats anything I have ever seen or used. BUT it has rattles and squeaks and groans and it is noisy. Do not buy the best audio system, you will never hear it. The inly problems after 2 years have been door locks that lock or unlock at their own will. This has been fixed, and the car was not to my order spec. A really great car, great service, but the Rattles!!!!!!!
Jaguar 2008 - the last of the classic Jaguars
Cons: Outdated ElectronicsAs Jaguar moves to the world of the XF and stretching it into the new XJ 2011, my Jaguar XJ Super 8 has been a stylish drive. Smooth ride and a rather responsive engine makes it a joy. Outdated electronics and a very poor service department makes it me after nearly 20 years of owning several Jaguars ready to move on. It saddens me since I have become associated with Jaguar since I have driven one for many years. They are unique cars and always an eye catcher but from the owner's perspective they are work - or at least require to much work for what they deliver.
Great Car except for Keyless Entry
Pros: Style & Performance
Cons: Keyless Entry is only complaint! The Jag XK is a great car, but the Keyless Entry is a piece of junk. Give me an old fashioned key to start the engine!
Sharp ridethis is a car that turns heads. People love the color and style.
Good year round car
Pros: Comfortable seats. Looks.
Cons: Gas mileage and rangeOverall, a good car, with adequate power. Looks nice and handles reasonably well. Heated seats only worked on the front of the seat and not at the butt. It has poor gas mileage and range. I have to fill up at about 240-250 miles
Deferred Dream Realized
Pros: The magnificently tuned ride and suspension.
Cons: Have yet to discover anything I don't like.As a member of the college graduate class of 1967, I saw myself as soon earning 10K a year and driving an XKE, but there was the war in Viet Nam, then law school, then family and always something that took priority. Forty years later the XKE had been long replaced by the XK8: well worth the wait!
