Pros: Look and comfort
Cons: Too many mechanical problems
Advice: Dont buy it, not reliable like Honda's in the pastThe Odyssey looks great and comfortable inside, but way too many mechanical problems for a $30,000+ car. Have had the car for less than 2 years, have constant engine noise (which the dealer says is normal), had to change the battery, Air conditioner does not get cold enough (another dealer scam), driver belt had to be changed.
Pros: the automatic side doors
Cons: i love it all
Advice: I have had other vans but the Odyssey is the very BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!I love my 08 Odyssey this is my 3rd Odyssey and I have loved them so much. The 2 things that I would like to see in the Odyssey is the 2nd row of seats down in the floor and better quality of leather other than that I LOVE MY ODYSSEY I SHOW IT OFF TO EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU Lea Batchelor
Pros: Comfort & space
Cons: Gas milage
Advice: Dont buy for gas milageExcellent in every way except gas milage is not what we were led to believe, less than 18mpg on highway, average 14/15 mpg
Pros: Voice activation
Cons: Rattle sound when opening trunk
Advice: Worst quality I've ever seen. Try to avoid Honda at all cost. Go with Toyota or NissanTook this car for a test drive. Man what a junk. Noticed multiple issues right on the spot as soon as I started the engine. Wheel vibrates on low RPM which is really annoying. The whole car shakes and it's hard to hold it when you accelerate up to 45 miles per hour. After passing 60 vibration is gone. Dealer has no clue on what is going on. He actually told me that this is a known issue and they can't do anything about it. So much for honda quality. During e braking brakes just disengage and because of that almost end up in the car accident. I had to use hand brake to stop. Rattling sound when opening the trunk. Sound was actually coming from one of the struts. Dealer told me that they can fix that by replacing it. Question: Why didn't they replaced it before showing the car. On the final note: car is always pooling to the right like it didn't had any kind of alignment. Really disappointed.
Pros: Automatic slidding doors.
Cons: It is a minivan.
Advice: Get the leather seats it is totally worth it if you have young kids. What can I say I have four kids, what else can carry them all and leave room for soccer gear! The car is extremely useful. My kids love the DVD player. Dropping kids off and picking them up is definitely easier than with my wife's Suburban. Acceleration does not compare to a sedan, but given the size of the car you still have enough power to pass slow pokes on the freeway.
Pros: Power, reinfinement, quality, resale value
Cons: power doors
Advice: This is the bset mini vanThis is the best minivan, period. Had a 2002 Dodge Caravan Sport. At 67,000 miles the car was done. Never again will I buy a Dodge. The Honda has everything that you could ever want in a minivan and then some. It has been reported that the Odyessy is an expensive van in its segment. However, an EX can be purchaced for around $25,500.00, and with its resale value, that makes it quite the bargin.
Pros: Automatic sliding rear doors
Cons: Durability of Air Conditioning Condensor
Advice: Read the reviews before purchasingI was extremely disappointed in the mileage and even more disappointed in the fact that I have needed to replace the air conditioning condensor, which is about $850 in parts and labor, twice in two years. This is not covered in the bumper to bumper warranty. Apparently, a tiny rock flying through the grill and into the condensor is enough to totally destroy it. I really wanted to purchase a Suburban or Yukon XL, but decided on the Honda because of the better gas mileage. Even with the bad mileage and the first condensor replacement, I was extremely pleased with the Van. But the second condensor replacement has me thinking this will be an annual $850 cost. Considering the cost of this vehicle, the fear I now have of small rocks, I wish I would have gone with another option.
