Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
Pros: Flexible storage. Went to Ikea and stuffed in more than I thought possible.
Cons: Driving position but with careful adustment, it is actually good.
Advice: I tried a number of competitors but Fit was clearly superior. Handles crazy well for price.Fit is well placed in econo range. Honda gives great value. Compare other makers with comparable equipment! Ride can be choppy and on center feel is slightly vague but, for 15K, give me a break. Driving position seems a bit awkward. I have short legs and arms but when peddles are ideal, wheel is too far away. Still, first 5 tanks of gas have averaged over 40. One tank was 42. Lowest tank was mostly city (38.5). All things considered this is the best car I have owned for the $.
Cons: No Armrests
Advice: Its a great buy at a low cost, Safety, gas milage, and cuteness you just can't beatI bought this car a few weeks before I made a 900+ mile trip to my folks. I made it 800 miles on 50$ of gas at $3.25/gal. I had a terrible accident due to a sudden drop in blood pressure causing me to drive off the road over a gaurd rail and rolling down into the woods below. MY 5 year old daughter only had a few bruises from her booster seat armrests and I just had a busted lip. The poor lil Fit was totalled but it kept us Safe. I just bought a new one Yesterday and I'll try not to break this one. Also its a very fun car to drive and cute too!
Pros: The Paddles, try them when you test drive it, you'll love it.
Cons: Non adjustable seats, no lumbar support, no thigh support or adjustments
Advice: Don't listen to the whiners in the reviews, test drive it and have fun doing it!I've had my Honda Fit Sport AT for 1 month now and put 5K on it. It is a lot of fun to drive with the paddles, and forgiving. Room for improvement on the comfort and performance but both can be upgraded. I didn't argue with the price and have been very happy with the fuel economy. Is it everything? No, but it is solid transportation and fun to drive. Upgrading to the Sport is worth the money, and doing the performance upgrade will be fun to after the warranty runs out.
Pros: Play an ipod in it and the manual gear shifts
Advice: Good car for gas mileageNice little car, but has plenty of room inside, I highly recomend this car, plus it gives good gas milage. When I get rid of my truck I will get another one.
Pros: looks fabulous
Cons: no light by rear view mirror
Advice: you will be pleasedI waited 4 months for my blaze orange sport. I love it. The only two things I don't like are: no light by rear view mirror and no mounting screws on the bottom of the back licence plate. Otherwise, I have loved everything about this car. I took my family of four on a 12 hour road trip and it handled beautifully. I highly recommend this car.
Pros: Easy going.
Cons: Lack of mid/high range power.
Advice: Great little car - fun and easy to drive. The Fit has peppy low-range power and actually bursts quite confidently from the line. However, mid/high ranged power is not as apparent and VTEC is heard more than it is felt. The car looks great inside and out, and the quality is impressive. My only concerns with the car is the lack of horsepower/buck when compared to its competitors and the issue of going from the base to the Sport model - the extra money spent to get the Sport model are not justifiable in any functional sense as all of the additions are cosmetic. I got the 5-speed manual transmission, and as in all Hondas, the gear-box is amazing. This happens to be a great car for my situation at the moment - I am currently a University student who would like a comfortable, worry-free and easy going car until I can get on something that uh, Fits a bit better to my desires.
Pros: What impressed me most, is the space available with the rear and passenger seat in the down position.
Cons: Unless the road is a fairly newly paved one, the ride feels all of the bumps.
Advice: If you are looking for a good looking, fuel efficent, roomy compact auto, this is the one to buy.I bought this car to replace a Chrysler Town & Country and a Hyundai Sonata. I was looking for a fuel efficient passenger car to comfortably seat 4 people, and a 'mini-van' to carry things for my business. It meets these requirements with flying colors. It has great pickup, is very stylish, handles well. I also considered the safety factors with the driver & passenger front airbags, and the side curtain air bags (which are not standard on some of the higher priced cars). I would recommend this car to anyone, despite the not-so comfortable and high noise level ride.
