Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
Pros: The outside appearance is cute
Advice: Do NOT buy this - check out the competition that SubaruDoesn't FORD stand for 'Fix Or Repair Daily'? I test drove a brand new Escape and upon parking the little guy at a convenience store in the spring, I returned to find the brakes had locked. It took me about 20 minutes to get going. It felt as though there were bricks wedged in behind all the tires so that I couldn't move (I checked, nothing was impeding the tires). Then when I did get the car moving it made noises and really didn't like moving until we got on the highway. Not what you'd expect from a vehicle with 30 miles logged on it. But probably what you'd expect from Ford. If you are offended at my Ford bashing or think the brake locking won't happen to you then consider the cheap looking interior - you can get a lot more from Subaru or Honda in this class. I'd run, not walk, away from this one. I bought a new Subaru Forester instead and once I got over the exterior body not being as cute as I'd like, I had no trouble enjoying the reliability, comfort, solid look and feel, roominess, price, gas mileage, safety, etc....
Pros: The quietness of the engine when accelerating, the 3rd row seat and the dual climate controls for driver and passenger.
Cons: The lack of side bolstering on the front seats and the placement of the heated seat bottom.
Advice: If you can afford it, go with the Eddie Bauer or Limited model. They are more attractive in appearance and come with great standard features. This is a great SUV. Ford did a really good job when redesigning it. It is quiet at highway speeds, rides great, feels good when passing other vehicles, the heated seats keep you warm in cold weather, the 6 disc cd changer is located in the dash, the 3rd row seat is really useful when needing to carry more than 5 passengers, the dual climate controls in front are excellant for people that are of different hot and cold natures, the seperate climate controls for back seat passengers are also great. Like i said before, this is overall just a great SUV.
Pros: Styling (dually) and comfort
Cons: Engine presence
Advice: Unless you tow max weight buy 3:73 axles for improved fuel economy with the Powerstroke.Diesel is very nice, great to pull with. Very powerful.
Pros: 6cd in dash / trac-loc - great for rain and snow
Cons: ride height
Advice: Find the color you want and want buy itThis is my 5th mustang... and best yet. More comfortable, more power. Wish Ford would lower the car by about 2'. Sound systems is more like an aftermarket product than Original equipment.
Pros: The power
Cons: Can't think of anything
Advice: Budget gas money!!! LOLA 4600 pound vehicle that will lay the smackdown on Z-28's and Trans-Am's. The Supercharged 5.4 idles like a kitten but hammer it and it roars like a lion! It's got a pick-up body to haul things and it handles like a sports car. Thank god that SVT builds vehicles like this
Pros: space, comfort
Cons: heavy rear door.
Advice: If you are looking at the suburban/tahoe, this is a better value.Great family SUV, plenty of room and easy to drive.
Pros: cd changer
Cons: something breaks every couple of weeks
Advice: don't buy it!!!I don't know if i just got a lemon or what, but i have had nothing but trouble since i bought it 3 months ago. I wouldn't buy one if i were you.
