2006 Ford Freestyle - SEL (120A) FWD
Pros: The looks
Cons: The rear sensors. I really, really wanted them since my husband had a 2005 Lariat with it. When I got mine, the sound is so low that you cannot hear it if the air is on or the radio is on. I don't know if something is wrong with it, or if this is it!
Advice: Buy it, but don't spend your money on the reverse sensors. We drove MANY vehicles before buying this. I compared to Chevrolet, GMC, Mazda, Pontiac and a few others. This was by far the most comfortable, smoothest, car like comfort I found.
2006 Ford Freestyle - Limited (160A) AWD
Pros: It is hard to pick one. The safety features, reverse sensor, the CVT, the AWD and the way the seats fold.
Cons: You sit lower then the Explorer but then you get better handling so it kind washes itself out.
Advice: It is the best kept secret Ford has and they will only make it until 2007. It is bigger then the Escape but slightly smaller then the Explorer.I was shocked at the power it had. I had been driving a 2002 XLS V8 Explorer. This 3.0 V6 had plenty of get up and go. It handles corners very well. There are no blind spots that I could find. The CVT gives you the smoothest ride with no gear shifting. This is Ford's best kept secret. I am so glad I used CarSmart to research all the vehicles. It was the reviews from owners that made me look at this vehicle. I love it!
2005 Ford Freestyle - SE (110A) FWD
Pros: all the room and the individual climate control my exterior colors cvt transmission
Cons: that the throttle thingy went out...and the interior color could be darker
Advice: it is a great value and has great featureswe have had our freestyle for about 3 weeks now and love it...we are a family of 5 and went from a focus 4 cylender to this..wow what a change...I keep finding myself speeding...we got a very good price and just love it...the only problem we had is a week after buying it the little wrench icon kept comming up and it was acting like it wanted to die, we took it back to the dealer and they did numerous tests and said it was a throttle thing and fixed it right away..we have had no other problems and are still in love with it...my teenage daughter has her own car (an intrepid) and she keeps fighting us for the freestyle...love the gas milage and the extra room (we opted for the 2 bench seats in back instead of buckets) also love the individual climate control and all the power accesories...it was a great buy for us...
2005 Ford Freestyle - SEL (120A) FWD
Cons: could be a little higher
Advice: buy it...WE have had our for a few days and still love it...it moved us out of the minivan camp back into the suv range without killing us on gas...our 3 kids love it...The dvd system is a must!!! It does have that volvo look which is sharp and clean...so far we are extremely happy...
2006 Ford Freestyle - SEL (150A) AWD
Pros: the style and handling
Cons: Would like better quality floormats, a little larger.
Advice: Try it, you'll love it!Just purchased this Freestyle a month ago. What can I say that's not already said! We are delighted with everything about the vehicle. My husband and I are like kids with a new toy. It is such a pleasure to drive. The mpg is great. The tranny is different but sooo smooth! Have many of the options of the limited, but we like the two tone of the SEL. Would have liked to have had heated seats, but in 07 that will be an option for the SEL. Other that that we got everything we wanted and more.
2005 Ford Freestyle - SE (110A) FWD
Pros: 2nd row bucket seats
Cons: Not a whole lot of driver leg room
Advice: Buy one! We've only had our Freestyle for a few weeks, but we love it. We were down-sizing from an Expedition (13 mpg). The Freestyle gets much better gas mileage and has plenty of room for our family of four plus the dog. We were attracted to the looks and the 2nd row bucket seats that make access to the third row easier. I've read other reviews saying that it is lacking in power. Yes, it has much less power than our 5.4L V8 in the Expedition, but it's a family car...and it actually has plenty of power (and uses half the gas). Great roomy vehicle.
2006 Ford Freestyle - SE (110A) FWD
Pros: Overall driving vision
Cons: like everything about the vechile
Advice: Just drive this vechileUpon driving this vechile,it handles great, very resposive when going around tight corners.Especially for a vechile of this size.Engine & transmission work well together and you feel that this vechile will react when you need it to.Driving the Freestlye is a great experiance the layout of the instruments is all within your reach and passenger/driver area have ample room. With this vechile you can have your cake & eat it.Switching to a Ford from chevrolet was a good move.
