Pros: styling and comfort
Cons: gas but its expected with large truck like this
Advice: hands down better than competitionhad the truck for about 3month. Great truck all around!! doesn't feel like 300hp though wish it had little more emmff!! but it is a heavy truck 5800pounds!! overall im very happy with the truck!! coming from someone who used to hate fords!! made me rethink about ford!! i had gotten a awesome deal too!!
Pros: big, bold appearance
Cons: fuel mileage
Advice: the lease program is not badI have had this truck for 7 months now and i can honestly say it is one of the most refined trucks i have ever driven. My friends 2003 crew cab chevy doesnt even compare when it comes to interior or leg room. The only complaint i have about the interior is the seats could be a little more comforatable, I drive a 2005 suburban at work and i must say, chevy's got got the upperhand on that one. i was impressed with the 5.4L 3V but it sure doesnt feel like 300HP although it is a very heavy truck (5600lbs!!) with the 20,000 km's i have put on it all i can say is that the new Ford's brakes aren't the strongest. i already have had to replace the rotors and pads. All in all i must say this truck is definatly worth taking a look at.
Pros: The ride of this truck.
Cons: Passing power is poor
Advice: Buy this truck! Mine is an XLT with some extrasRide is awesome, my last truck was a Dodge Ram 1500 2x4. Actual gas mileage (14-17mpg) is better than my old truck (11-12mpg) even though my F150 is a 4x4. Beautiful truck, great ride, nice interior, great space in back seating area (Super Crew).
Pros: Beautiful truck, quiet, powerful and luxurious.
Cons: Fuel mileage is what you expect in a truck.
Advice: If you drive a Ford, you will buy one.Ford's new F150 is the finest pickup on the market. The ride and handling are the best of any pickup I have ever driven, including Dodge, Toyota and Chevy. I tested a Nissan Titan and it actually rode worse than my old 2002 F150. The new F150 is also very quiet. In fact, it's quieter than our 2002 Eddie Bauer Expedition. I got a Lariat because I wanted the flow-thru console and floor shifter. The interior looks more like an Audi than a Ford, and in fact it's too nice for a pickup. The fit and finish are excellent. The 5.4 Triton V8 has 300 hp and fantastic torque. I got my truck during the Family Plan discount.
Pros: Cabin quietness
Cons: Fuel economy
Advice: Test drive it on the highway and roads that you normally drive. The F-150 King Ranch surprised me. After looking at the Titan and the Avalanche for months and not being able to make a decision, I decided to give the Ford a try. I was looking for a comfortable and quiet truck that could also do some heavy lifting on occasion and the F-150 had it all. The interior really sold me with exceptional saddle leather seats and loads of space. The Escalade EXT was nice, but the Ford had more room in the back seat and the interior was actually fancier than the Cadillac. Visibility is better than I expected and it's actually very easy to park.
Pros: Comfort & Function
Cons: Excessive Oil Consumption & Vibration
Advice: Test drive the truck you want to buy at least 250 miles!I love the truck - BUT it consumes a full quart of oil every 1000 miles. Ford's solution is run repeated oil consumption tests and offer various excuses. The most recent solution is 'run the test again after 10K miles as the problem may go away'. Also, check out the driveline & tire vibration this model has - many owners report it - mine still has some vibration even after two tires were replaced.
Pros: The ride.
Cons: Average 12.5 MPG
Advice: Work the dealers, they're hot to sell the 05 before the 06 arrive.I've owned this truck for three week now and can only say good things. It's very well put together and the ride is great. My last truck was an older Isuzu without A/C or power steering. A hot summer day was like a drive to hell, but the truck gave me fifteen years of service without any major repairs. I don't have as much trust in the American products, since I bought the 7 year 100,000 mile warranty, I hope Ford proves me wrong.
