Pros: Rear deck lid spoiler
Cons: Seems like it drags a bit on initial take off, but once your going.....LOOK OUT, it's fast!
Advice: Go with the SXT, you get a lot of bang for your buckJust picked up my brand new 2003 Dodge Neon SXT two days ago and I love it!!!!! It handles awesome around corners, and looks as sleek as a jungle cat!!!!! It's got a rear deck lid spoiler, fog lamps, a factory cd player that sounds AWESOME and the sport appearance group. Boy, these cars have come a long way in a short time!!!! Hey, also check out how these things did in a crash test. If you like safety first, this car will serve you well also.
Pros: The Sunroof!
Cons: People say the rear windows but I would say the cd changer location
Advice: Test Drive OneI love my new R/T! It is a fast little car and it gets excellent gas mileage. The manual can be rough at times but you get used to it. People say that they need power windows in the back but I consider that something else that can go wrong and if you think about in emergencies you might need those manual windows to get out of a sticky situation. But overall this car rocks!
Pros: Leather interior is amazingly comfortable.
Cons: No power windows for rear windows.
Advice: Buy the 5 speed !Although here in Canada the 2003 Neon's were renamed the SX-2.0 the car is exactly the same as it's American cousin and is a fantastic 'little' car. It's fast, comfortable, tons of room, great on gas, and is a blast to drive. Mine is the R/T model with the 150 hp motor, and has every single option and was worth every penny. So far this car has not let me down, and would recommend taking one out for a 'test thrill'.
Pros: 5-speed overdrive manual, h.p. and M.P.G.
Cons: Not available with an automatic transmission. Not enough torque.
Advice: Check and test before buying, as well as competitors'.While a lot of progress has been made to this Neon, I see room for more progress. It needs to be available with an automatic transmission. It needs a bigger engine or a turbocharger to increase torque. I suggest using your own judgment. I chose to avoid it.
Pros: The sunroof and the spoiler.
Cons: I haven't found anything that I don't like yet.
Advice: Definitely give it a chance!I love the way the car 'wraps' around me. It takes the curves like a breeze. It handles like a sports car, but plenty of room for me, my 6' tall husband and my 3 children.
Pros: Everything covered.
Advice: Check, test and get one of these soon with Chrysler's rebate! You will be glad you did!I checked and tested this one. It has plenty of zip without needing a higher performing compact sedan with 150 h.p. It gets what it is estimated to on gas mileage. It has plenty of cargo and seating room. It is great overall. It is also reasonably priced now with a $2,500 rebate which was not available when I checked on it. And although it only comes with a 5-speed manual, it has overdrive. Way to go, Dodge! It is the only compact sedan I found with a standard stereo with both cassette and CD. It is excellent overall. I have no complaint. I highly recommend checking, testing and getting one soon with the rebate. It is well worth it!
Pros: Tons of interior room (very deceiving from the outside)
Cons: As affordable as this car is, I should have gotten the ABS
Advice: Go for it!Dollar for dollar, this is the best vehicle in it's class out there on the market. You can spend more money on another make, but it would make no sense. I don't know about the earlier years, but the new '03's have the best looking body style, a great 7/70 powertrain warranty, and an excellent option package (J-Package) which includes many great features. I get the same reaction from anyone who checks out my Neon... 'That's a Neon'?!!
