2005 Dodge Magnum - SE RWD

Pros: The interior seating. Back seats are raised so you can see over the front with no effort.

Cons: I didn't get the side mirrors that absorb impact and 'give' if struck. My fault.

Advice: Don't bother with the phone accessories, you don't want to wreck this beauty.

I love this car. I have the SXT with the V6 and it carries the load. The care is sleak, fun and very comfortable. It took a while to get used to all the different positions of the seat, stearing wheel and pedal location but I found what was best for me. This wonderful vehicle would be great for anybody and versatile enough for a family, business or an individual just looking for a great car that is pur joy!

2005 Dodge Magnum - RT RWD

    Pros: Styling

Cons: No rear flipper window, anemic sounding exhaust

Advice: drive it, and you'll buy it. Go no smaller than the V6!

Picked it up new in Milleville, NJ on June 6th. Been smiling since....The Hemi is a hoot! This car scoots! Wonderful highway acceleration that just keeps coming! The interior dimensions are very impressive, and the fit and finish are definately Mercedes influenced. A rear 'flipper' window would be nice as well as seat pockets for the front seats. A more authorative tone is needed on the exhaust - it sounds kind of puny considering a 'Hemi's' in it. Driving wind noise is non-existant the car is stone silent going down the road. The GPS and Sirius satellite radio are super options. Needs more interior lighting (floor, glove box). Overall a fantastic buy for mid $30's. Gary, Connecticut

2005 Dodge Magnum - RT RWD

    Pros: The Hemi!

    Cons: The Continental tires.

Advice: Don't bother with the V6 options, get the Hemi!

I had seen the commercials and was intrigued. So when one appeared at the local Dodge dealership, I had to go look at it! The salesman came out and I stated I was just looking and I might be back in a month. He then said, 'Come on, take it for a test drive.' So we did. I wound up buying it after that. I love it! The power is unbelievable, the interior is perfect. In fact it is one of the only cars I have ever owned that was a comfortable fit as soon as sat in it. Usually you have to get used to where everything is and the space. This was a dream come true, it was almost like the car was built for me. I used to own a Pontiac Grand Am SE with a V6 that I thought was a quick little runner and a decent handling car. This is a race car compared to that: far superior power (Hemi 5.7 Liter V8), extremely better handling, and braking capacity that I had never experienced before. This is my dream car! The looks are superb as well! It is different from any other car out there, except maybe a slight resemblance to the new Bentley prototype wagon, which by the way is not out yet and I am guessing, costs far more than the Magnum. Excellent looking car. I love the thing. Hot-Rod looks with the power to back it up, not to mention practical with all that storage capacity. As I said before, my dream car!

2005 Dodge Magnum - RT RWD

Pros: Hemi power with brakes to stop

Cons: Options as packages, not individual

Advice: Check it out, SXT is good, RT is outstanding

Test drove both the RT and SXT versions. Both are nicely constructed with Benz like interior materials and fit. Ride was outstanding, with little body roll in the turns, confidence inspiring grip, and a not too harsh ride over RR tracks or expansion joints. Hemi grunts with gusto. The 3.5 V6 on the SXT is easily up to the task. Brakes on the RT are far superior to the SXT however. Pedal was firm and progressive where on the SXT it was soft until the brakes bite and bite hard. Options are a concern however. While most everything you could want is there, more often than not they are part of a package which has things you may not want. Example, the air filter on the climate control is only available with the side curtain airbags and, gasp, runflat tires. You want heated seats, you also get auto climate control, adjustable pedals, adn a power passenger seat. Shouldn't some of these things be available separately? Even so, this will be my next vehicle, as soon as they start arriving in numbers at the dealers.
