2005 Dodge Grand Caravan - SXT Passenger

    Pros: Stow 'N Go seats

Cons: Flimsy plastic floor cover between second row bucket seats

Advice: Be sure to research and compare any potential vehicle purchase to the competition

Second and third row seats do sacrifice size, appearance, and perhaps comfort to allow the stowable feature. Floor cover between second row bucket seats is flimsy and uncarpeted. Third row outside seats have limited foot room; toes cannot extend under the second row seats. Despite these initial observations, we are very impressed with Dodge's exterior styling, the Stow 'n Go functionality, the 3.8 L V6 performance, and the interior finish. Convinced this is a much better value than the competition; very pleased with our purchase.

2002 Dodge Grand Caravan - Sport AWD

    Pros: Disc Brakes

Cons: Poor mileage, Poor, poor resale value, High cost of maintenance at dealer,

Advice: Resale value is terrible on these Chrysler vans. Honda and Toyota are worth 50% more at resale or trade in time.

Handles firmly and corners well. Four wheel disc brakes work very well. Seats are heavy and do not fold into floor. Should have bought the Odyssey because it would have been worth $8K more with 60K miles; would have cost me only $2K more at the time of purchase.

2002 Dodge Grand Caravan - Sport AWD

    Pros: Comfort, tri-zone climate control.

Cons: Quality and reliability of the car.

Advice: Either get extended warranty, know for sure that your dealership has a good service department, or don't buy this car.

Drives well, has enough power. Vehicle constantly has problems (factory recall on steering, hoses, etc.). Turn signal signals in the wrong direction (left instead of right)...one dealership did not have parts, the other dealership cannot find problem and refuses to fix it. Also makes some squealing noises during summer, but dealership cannot find problem either. Called Dodge corporate, and they cannot do anything except refer to the same dealers that cannot solve the problem.

2003 Dodge Grand Caravan - SE FWD Passenger

Pros: The room I have when the back seat is removed

Cons: Chrysler knowing the transmission in the 3.3 liter engines are JUNK, but unwilling to recall and fix the problem

Advice: If it's a Caravan you want don't go with the 3.3 liter engine pay the extra money and go the next one up.

Thank goodness you get a 7 year/70,000 mile warrenty on the power train. At 20,000 miles while driving home from a trip without any warning the van grabbed and jerked while slowing down to 28 MPH scaring the heck out of me. It turned out to a pump inside the transmission. All the oil leaked out causing the van to grab and jerk when dropping down from 4th gear into 3rd. Chrysler is aware of this problem (the 3.3 liter engines), but does not have a recall on it. I was informed by the Dodge dealership that fixed the transmission...Chrysler DOES NOT consider this a safety issue. In the winter I have a whistling sound coming from either one of the side sliding doors or the back door. Service can't find the problem so I have to live with it when it gets cold out. Chrylser says the Grand Caravan can tow up to 3,500 lbs. Don't believe it. My popup is around 3,000 lbs and I have to drive at a snails pace for several miles on the highway before I can go from 3rd to Drive and stay with the flow of traffic.

2005 Dodge Grand Caravan - SXT Passenger

    Pros: Stow and Go

    Cons: N/A

Advice: We looked at several other minivans

I have owned 5 minivans since 1985, three of them Dodge, my 2005 appears to be the best of all

2002 Dodge Grand Caravan - Sport AWD

    Pros: style, looks, drive

Cons: no quality in the vehicle

Advice: I wish I would have bought a Honda or Toyota

Don't buy this Chrysler product. Now at 61,000 miles it has been in the shop at least 10 times. The people at the dealership are professional and have been, I believe, trying to make the best out of a bad situation. Everything from brake lights staying on to the door open alarm while driving, to transmission not shifting right to now engine knock that they say is normal. It's a good looking vehicle but, there seams to be very little qaulity in this product. Definately my last Dodge ever to own.
