Pros: The overall look
Cons: Not as much room in the back seat (club cab) as I'd like
Advice: Get one! =DI purchased a 2005 Dodge Dakota SLT 4x4 Club Cab for Valentine's Day. =D After taking it for a test drive, I could not believe how comfortable & quiet it is. The fit & finish is excellent, the feature list impressive, and the styling is awesome.
Pros: Handles like a car
Cons: Road noise from goodyear tires
Advice: Buy it if you need this size truckVery satisfied with the overall performance 4 wheel disk brakes are excellent. I have the 4.7 V8 Stampede 2 wd package and it works well..The only disappointment is the stock Goodyear tires are noisy on grooved concrete highway surfaces
Pros: Quiet interior ride... no rattles.
Cons: Agree with someone else's review... blower is a little loud.
Advice: Go with the V-8.Great looking truck. Adding a line-x bedliner dampened the sound of an empty bed on rough streets. Love the V-8 in performance and sound. Makes the guy in the Nissan look away when he hears the Dodge engine start up. Gas mileage not the greatest, but you don't tend to go with a 4.7L V-8 and expect Hybrid mileage. 6 Disc-CD changer option provides a nice Stereo. Unfortunate that there is no XM-Satellite option. Aftermarket installed easily.
Pros: Performance and handeling
Cons: noisy blower fan
Advice: If you have the choice go with the V8. Not much more & than the V6 but more fun to driveI am very happy with the new 5 speed auto tranny that Dodge has matched up with the 4.7 V8 in this truck. I ordered the Stampede edition when I purchased mine and love the looks and feel of the truck. Great performance and all around driveability out of this truck in my oppinion.
Pros: the 5 speed tranny
Cons: 2 wheel drive
Advice: buy it but go with and extended cab 4x4 but get a v-6 and 5 speedThis truck runs great and looks amazing. With a 3.9L v-6 and a 5 speed you own the streets
Pros: AWD feature, 4.7 V-8, towing package, interior room.
Cons: Gas Mileage (but I didn't buy a truck to get good mileage)
Advice: Best truck in this segment.Just the right size. Not too small, not too big. Does everything the 'big' trucks (i.e. Ford F-150, Chevy 1500, Dodge 1500) do and still fits in the garage!
Pros: Roomy cab.
Cons: Highway stability & brakes.
Advice: Look at all competitors: Ford, Toyota, etc.Interior is nicely designed. Exhaust on V6 loud. Auto-transmission shifting fair...sometimes shifts when you don't expect it would. If you hit a bump in the road on an interstate at high speed (65 mph), be prepared to be tossed around. Poor brakes.
