    2007 Dodge Dakota

    dislike

    Pros: radio

Cons: position of thge cup holders and the left side visablility

I have had a Dakota since 1998 and have had real good luck with them.I have had very little warranty work done on them. But my 2007 truck there is something I don't like about this one. For a V6 the gas mileage sucks. There is plunty of torque with it.I have added an air sensor to it that has inproved the gas mileage to 18 mpg around town. I don't like the cup holders under the heater controls.

2005 Dodge Dakota - SLT 4x4 Club Cab

Pros: I don't have one anymore

Cons: Taking it to be repaired

Advice: Stay away from this truck

I bought a 2005 Dodge Dakota Club Cab SLT 4x4 from CarMax when it had 9k of miles on it. To make a long story short it had and still has multiple problems; tires, vibration, transmission, emmision problems, windows, wheels etc... I have made many trips to get things fixed and it has cost me a lot of out of pocket money. Please do not buy one of these trucks! It was a very poor decision for me and I will never purchase another!

2005 Dodge Dakota - SLT 4x4 Club Cab

    Pros: 4 doors

Cons: breaks, engine power, front suspension, gas mileage.

Advice: full size gas mileage, small truck ride..it's for you

I have the 4.7 HO engine w/5spd atuo lock up torque converter, 3.92 rear end (towing pkg). This truck stops long w/little feed back from the brakes. acceleration with the HO motor leave much to be desired. Gas mileage is like a full size truck. Rides like a small truck. Front suspension seems weak and bouncy. I can get 20.0mpg with the cruise control on a level surface at 55. 16mpg in and around. If you are not picky, need 4 doors and tow a boatyou could buy this...or just get the full size.

2006 Dodge Dakota - SLT 4x2 Quad Cab

Pros: leg room in front and back.

Cons: haven't found anything yet that I do not like.

Advice: Shop and compare, I looked and tested the Ford, Chevy/GMC, and Toyota and Loved the Dodge.

This is the first Dodge I have ever owned and because of it will not be the last. All the professional reviews I have read before buying had 2 common complaints, it floated/drifted when driving and the acceleration was not very responceive. I am guessing that is the 3.7, because I have the 4.7 with a 6 speed and the handling is awsome, I feel more like I am driving a car not a truck and the acceleration is great. MPG apears to be 19.5 highway and 16.5 city which is extreemly acceptable, plus I plan on adding a stage 1 jet chip which will improve that.
