2008 Saturn VUE - 4-Cyl XE FWD
Pros: Body style
Cons: Car too heavy for 4 cyl. Saturn should reconsider.
Advice: Stay away from the 4 cyl.The 4 cyl has no power, someone might get injured if they are not aware of the slowness of acceleration. I owned a 2004 VUE which performed much better, this new body style is attractive but the car is too heavy for the motor in my opinion. Somewhere between 40-50 miles per hour it downshifts and you can floor board it and it will hardly move until it is ready to shift, whenever that may be. I also do not get the 18 miles per gallon city they advertise.
2008 Hyundai Santa Fe - Limited (A5) FWD
Pros: Mileage and power balance, just right!
Advice: Test drive it before you make your final decision, it will be worth it.I got rid of a tire eating, gas guzzling Touareg for a new 2008 Santa Fe. It has a great combination of features, looks, performance, fuel economy and price. Pounds per HP are fewer than my V8 Touareg; both cars are plenty quick yet the Santa Fe easily gets 10MPG better at all times. I drove and hour home from San Jose and got 27MPG, going 70+ MPH. Nice!!! I figured I'd be saving about $1300 per year in gas alone!! The safety features are great; I'm glad my family is in this vehicle.
2009 Lexus RX 350 - AWD
Pros: The leather quality
Cons: The rear cargo space
Advice: Unless you really want to own, leasing is a very economical option if you like to trade often like me.The sumptuous leather trimmed cabin surrounds you in a very calm, quiet and comfortably spacious environment. The light bird's eye maple wood trim really sets off the interior as quite luxurious and appealing. The drive is very quiet and responsive. The fit and finish is stellar.I love the NAV system and bluetooth features.
2008 Dodge Nitro - SLT/RT 4x4
Cons: Fuel consumption
Advice: Buy it if you would like to be out of the crowd.Freinds please tell the honest fuel consumption. I can't believe in 16 mpg in city for 4.0 L engine. Please tell honest experience. Thanks.
2004 Scion xB - (M5)
Pros: interior space
Advice: well-built, economical, and fuel efficient..this car does it all. This car is well-built, drives/handles well, has a ton of space inside, and overall delivers a lot for a little money.
2009 Subaru Forester - XT Limited (A4)
Pros: It drives like a car.
Cons: I haven't found any fault with it yet.
Advice: Buy one with all the bells and whistles.I took a test drive on the back roads of Arizona. This SUV zipped right up a 35 degree incline with no problem. It was as if the SUV itself was having fun. There were some deep ruts in the road and I hardly felt them. The vehicle has excellent rock clearance. The seats are very comfortable. I traded in my 2008 Chevy Truck for the Forrester and I don't regret it one bit.
2003 Acura MDX - Base
Pros: comfort and size
Cons: LOW gas mileage!
Advice: Beware of the low gas mileageI love everything about this car: the seating, the comfort, not too big, easy to drive, the 4wd, rear camera, etc. BUT THE MILEAGE IS HORRIBLE!! paying almost $5 bucks a gallon, and I get 13.4 mpg (Sticker says 17-23). Terrible. And the trip computer is inaccurate, telling me I get much more than I do. BIG disappointment. Now we're garaging it (it's fully paid for), taking it out for long trips, and buying a Bug to get around town.
