2008 Acura RDX - Base
Pros: Extremely good handling
Cons: Poor quality
Advice: Don'tI have had this vehicle for a little over two years. The overall quality is just not there door moldings falling off armrest leather stretching. Handling has been absolutely superb, but at a high cost of low mileage per gallon, very disappointing for a four-cylinder.
2008 Jeep Patriot - Sport FWD
Pros: cvt tranny and 110 volt outlet
Cons: armrest and door armrest not padded
Advice: upgrade to the 2.4 engine, lot more power and can tow 2000 poundsvery peppy engine, gas mileage always near 30.no problems in 65k miles
2010 Volkswagen Tiguan - S (A6) FWD
Pros: I like the entire vehicle.
Cons: the radio knob.
Advice: Shop around and do your car homeworkThis vehicle has the same motor as the Volkswagen CC. The Tiguan was smooth as I punched the gas. Feeling that turbo kick in and assist in extra power raised my brow to a mmmmm. The motor runs like a very well oiled machine. The brakes have a good response and the thing will stop on a dime. The interior is very comfortable. The seats are easy to change positions. So I bought one...
2010 Chevrolet Traverse - LTZ FWD
Cons: oil filer location
Advice: It is a solid Crossover with good acceleration on the LTZ model & has a good amount of cargo spaceI traded in a 2007 Silverado LTZ Vortec Max on this New 2010 Traverse LTZ 10-30-09 & have been very pleased with my decision. MPG's was the main reason I opted for a smaller vehicle but I did not want to give up what I had become accustomed to such as the Big sound of the Bose audio system, Onstar, Leather seats, Climate control front & rear, Sun Roof, Remote Start, etc. I got all of those things in the Traverse LTZ with a pretty nifty RearView Camera whenever I put it in reverse. In addition, I don't have to unlock & lift up a Tonneau Cover anymore to carry large things because the Traverse has a lot of cargo area when I fold down the 3rd seats & 2nd row Captain's seats. Initially I was going to get the Dark Cherry colored Traverse but my 'excellent' salesperson' Dina at Tom Bell Chevrolet in Redlands, Cali said she liked the Black Granite more. She was right! My Traverse has quick acceleration for a medium sized Crossover & hardly noticable outside noise. Stepping down in size from a 4x4 Silverado 5ft bed is a rather pleasant change for me in the Traverse. Also, I almost forgot to mention the Rear Lift can be activated by the Remote or from inside the Traverse. The strangest things I have experienced is the fact that the battery is not located under the hood..it is located behind the passenger seat in the floor. In addition, I pulled up to fill it up for the first time since I bought it. I went inside & paid for gas. When I came back out & looked for a lever or little push down down by the driver seat or the lower driver side dash I couldn't find one. It was friday evening & people were driving up to fill up so I went back inside & asked for my money back & drove home. I called Onstar & the tech lady said push in on the gas cover door & it will pop open. Boy did I feel dumb. All in all I would recommend the 2010 Traverse LTZ as a VERY good alternative to a big SUV that doesn't skimp on amenities, acceleration, or Cargo space. This was the first time I really felt good about a New Automobile & the salesperson. Dina is a terrific salesman because she is honest, straightfoward, & knowledgable. She searched & searched until she found what I wanted at the price I could afford
2009 Honda CR-V - LX FWD
Pros: The look
Cons: manual lights; no cargo shelf, hard seats
Advice: Don't buy the Honda CRV-LX under any circumstances. The Honda CRV-LX is a rip off! You would think that automatic headlights on/off feature would be a standard feature on all vehicles in this day/age of auto technology. However, it only comes on the EX-L package. What's even worse is that you can not purchase the auto on/off headlights package and put on your car. I have already had to have a boost off due to leaving the lights on for 2 hours. Also, the CRV has the feature for dual cargo shelf, but you can not find a dual cargo shelf to purchase. Sitting on these seats are very, very uncomfortable; it is like sleeping on a cheap mattress and/or low thread count sheets, it causes severe pain to the skin, tissue, body, and joints (causes soreness). The Honda CRV-LX is just a high price car shell; I have purchased a 2010 Honda CRV-LX that I desperately want to get rid of. If anyone got any suggestions, please email me. If you are not going to buy the Honda CRV-EX-L; don't waste your time on the LX, because they will only buy back for 1/2 the purchase price once it leave the lot. The Honda dealers offers no incentives, rebates, or deals. This was a horrible purchasing experience for me!
2010 Ford Flex - Limited FWD
Pros: I am 6 ft tall and 230 lbs I like cars with more room form the door to the center console and this car has it!
Cons: The vehicle is a little shy on storage compartments.
Advice: Take a test drive the rest sells it self. This vehicle drives and handles as nice as the Cadillac SRX and better the Buick Enclave. You get more vehicle than those 2 and a much better price. The Flex has more head and shoulder room in the front and back and way more leg room in the second row. The cadillac does not have the 7 or 8 passenger options. The Microsoft Sync system out does anything any other car company has for it's nav and location assistance system.
2010 Mitsubishi Endeavor - AWD
Cons: wish it had remote liftgate
Advice: BUY BUY BUY!My 4th Mitsubishi. Loved them all. Great vehicles and are highly under-rated. Have my 2010 Endeavor 3 months now. Perfect size for a family & extremely comfortable. Handles and drives like a sports sedan. Gas milage better than expected. Awesome vehicle! Giving my 2001 Montero Sport (106M miles and going strong) to my 17 year old son.
