Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
Pros: Smooth engine
Cons: Lack of comfort
Advice: Look elsewhereWarning to potential SE purchaers--be sure to drive this car on the interstate before purchase. The combination of wheelbase-cab forward design-and suspension calibrations will continuously slam you over uneven pavement sections. My 27 year old Vette rides better over these areas. The car is also not as quiet as my previous Cressida nor does it handle as well. Be sure to notice the blind spot created by the rear roof pillars also. The bucket seats are not very suupportive and are too narrow. There is rust under the hood in my car with less than 1000 miles and the dealer blames it on the factory--they've offered to clean it off!! The paint quality also varies from one panel to the next on this black car. Don't be in a hurry to leave the lot without a thorough going over on a sunny day. The drive train seems to rock when you let off the gas and you can feel the wipers pulsate as they change direction when your holding the steering wheel. Did I somehow end up with a mid 70's GM?
Pros: More powerful engine!
Cons: Styling of back.
Advice: Buy the first one available, if you liked the z3, consider yourself in love with the z4!Perfect car, I'm trading my 2000 z3 2.3 for one of these. Makes z3s look, handle, and feel like a Pinto!
Pros: More power than ever and a real convertible top
Cons: Outrageous comic-book-hero styling is toned down
Advice: Black might look like the Batmobile but silver is easiest to keep clean.More fun than ever before. The boy-racer styling that many of us loved about 1991-2002 snakes now yields to euro-looks that can compete with any exotic. Most everything about the car has been improved. Ergonomics. Seats. Brakes. Aerodynamics. Power. And now a top that you can remove and not fear the unexpected thunderstorm!
Cons: Lightbulb change requires car to go to service and pay at least $35.
Advice: 'Resistance is futile', just get it and make sure you try any TurboThis is a great looking car with a superb acceleration and fuel economy. It handles very well and has very responsive breakes. Great from seat clearance. From driver seat had to be replaced (still waiting to know if its covered under warranty) and had multiple problems with the Mass Flow Sensor (it had to go 4 times for service until VW resolved the problem).
Cons: no fog lamps
Advice: Buy it if you can afford it, you will smile from ear to ear.I purchased the 2003 Corvette Z06 and have only driven it about 90 miles. I can say those 90 miles was a thrill. I will say you will have NO problem merging into interstate traffic. It is one fast automobile right out of the box. The interior is about the same as my 2000 Corvette, so it was no problem in getting in and driving away. The 'heads up' display is really nice, you are able to keep your eye on the road and still keep track of your speed, RPM's fuel etc. It is not distracting in the least, either day or night. It shifts really sweet, and the steering is great. Great car, worth the money.
Pros: the a/c gets very cold
Cons: the rear suspension is not stiff enough
Advice: shop price, there are deals to be hadI have a 4 cylinder SE with JBL, moonroof, automatic, power everything, and some package that added all these nice little extras (including the floor mats) and paid $18,400 plus tax and license (after rebate). It's alot of car for the money. Looks nice, very comfortable, not a flaw at deliver or in the 6 months I own it. It's black with charcoal interior, and when clean looks pretty sharp. Its not the fastest, and the handling is slightly better than so so, but its a good car, reasonably priced, and probably will last longer than my payment book.
Pros: Automatic/Manual Transmission
Cons: Quirkey Cup Holder
Advice: Drive the car -it will speak for itselfHaving read the review of the new 93 sport sedan,we decided to take a test drive.I really wasn't expecting anything boy was I suprised!Opon looking the vehicle over I was pleasently suprized at the workmanship of the body, how the doors fit,the paint finish I haven't seen this kind of attention to detail in a long time. The saab engineers sure earned their paychecks. The test drive was equally suprising. The car handles like a sports car.I just love that transmission(Automatic/Manual)It shifts like a Champ Car Push the shifter foward to go up a gear and pull back to go down a gear.Compared to the 2002 Nissan Altima we have now, there's just no comparison.I never concidered a Saab before but I bet we will be trading by spring.
