Advice: You cant go wrong! I would suggest the manual transmissionI traded in a 1999 mustang for my Z24 and I have to say I dont miss the Stang for a second! Even with a smaller engine, my Z24, 5 sp. has no problem with power and doesnt give me the feeling that its 'struggling' like the Ford gave me. The interior is well put together, no rattles or squeaks and I think it gives a nice ride. I average about 32 mph with a mix of in town and highway driving.

Advice: If you haven't driven a TrailBlazer I highly recomend it for SUV loversThe Chevy TrailBlazer is out of this WORLD. I've been driving vans,trucks and suv's all my life and never have I driven a vehicle like the TrailBlazer. This vehicle is in league of it's own. OK where can I start first. The performance of the engine is superb. The engine is so quiet when the car is running, sometimes I have to check to make sure it's running. Next the smooth ride, it provides as well as great steering and handling features. Also the comfort and leg room of the TrailBlazer. I could go on and on about this vehicle. Let's just say you have to test drive it to understand what I'm trying to say.

Cons: Inability to remotely open rear gate
Advice: Get options from factory; dealers can't get/find a lot of options. Also, longer wheelbase version coming!!!Very quiet at any speed. Excellent power at any engine speed. Well placed controls and lighting. Rear AC and stereo controls. Transfer case neutral for towing.

Advice: Get the running boards...it sets rather high off the groundI first heard about the new Avalanche in the office where it was refered to as a 'what the Sport Trac wants to be'. That about sums it up. It drives like a luxury car (albeit a large one) but has the versitility and function of a truck. What could be better. I get stares and looks wherever I drive it. Really a well thought out and well developed vehicle.

Advice: if you want the creature comforts of a suburban, buy one --Hello from Fairfax Virginia, home to more SUVs per capita than anywhere in the nation (although terrain is relatively flat, and no snow to speak of). I've owned Suburbans, Expeditions, and one Isuzu diesel PU, and the Avalanche is the 'Reanimator' version (remember the movie?) of all three. Although only 3100 GVW, the Avalanche feels exceedingly heavy, in that it is based on the Suburban platform. However, it is very comfortable, and doesn't have that F250 feel that the Expedition has. Cool features, although I am concerned about the seal between the PU bed and the passenger compartment -- a great idea, but I think I'll wait a year before I spring for one - as a yuppie with a big yard, the Suburban/PU combination is intriguing, and, there aren't many on the road.
