    2005 Cadillac CTS - w/1SA

Pros: Steering Wheel and Radio features

    Cons: The transmission problems

Advice: Test the car out for a few days if allowed. Then make a decision! I didn't know about my cars problem untill I had the car home!

I just traded my 04' Toyota Scion Xa in for the 05' Cadillac 2.8L. I had a much smaller car and needed safety for my 1yr old. However all I have had is trouble with this Luxury car. It is only four days old to me now. And the car is not reading my shift modes. When I'm in drive it sometimes thinks I'm in second. The same thing with park it thinks I'm in drive and I sometimes can't get my key out... And so on! Is this a problem with all these CTS cars or do I just have bad luck? Don't know, but I do know foreign cars are definitely better for me now!

2007 Cadillac DTS - Luxury II

    Pros: Mp3 Player

    Cons: no full spare tire

Advice: Consider the luxury 2 package many more extra's

Cadillac has out done them selfs the new DTS drives and handles great. I have owned Bmw's and M/Benz and for 30,000 less the new DTS is the best full size Luxury car in the market. Drive this car and you will buy it.

    2007 Cadillac DTS - V8

    Pros: room

Cons: transmission whine at 15 to 30 mph

Advice: Be sure to drive at slow speed and listen for transmission before buying

Style is fine, ride is OK Size is good Be sure you like this car before you buy. The 800 number for Cadillac is no good. GM will not stand behind its product. The dealer and the 800 number people cannot do anything because of GM.

    2006 Cadillac CTS - Base w/1SB

Pros: Appearance - nice size and very sharp looks

Cons: Major mechanical defects - Cadillac should be ashamed to have an engine fail at 1500 miles

Advice: Avoid this vehicle unless you like having your car in the shop more than in your garage

The quality control on our 2007 CTS was very poor. The electrical system failed twice in the first month of ownership and an engine cylinder failed at less than 1500 miles under normal operating conditions on a busy interstate highway -- very scary. Cadillac replaced the engine but the dealer in Denver acted like it was no big deal for any of this to happen.

    2007 Cadillac XLR-V - Base

Pros: HART TOP CONV, HEADSUP INSTRUMENTS AND THE POWER.

Cons: TIME IT TAKES TO OPERATE THE TOP.

Advice: DRIVE IT AND HAVE FUN. IT DOES NEED BETTER SOUND, SO CHANGE THE EXHAUST.

I HAVE BACK PROBLEMS AND STILL FIND THIS CAR VERY COMFORTABLE. THE PERFORMANCE IS EXCELLANT, BUT I WOULD LIKE MORE HORSEPOWER. THAT IS JUST A PERSONAL THING. IT HAS PLENTY. I DID CHANGE THE RIMS AND TIRES, BUT I CAN'T GET AWAY FROM PEOPLE RUNNING OVER WHEN I PARK OR WHEN I GO TO THE CAR, TO PRAISE AND GET DETAILS ABOUT THIS MACHINE. I THINK THE CAR IS JUST BEAUTIFUL AND TEENAGERS TO OLD LADYS AGREE. I EVEN HAD SOMEONE ACTUALLY RUN ACROSS THE PARKING LOT WAVING THIER ARMS WILDLY, JUST TO ASK ME ABOUT THE CAR. I LOOK RATHER INTIMIDATING, BUT THAT DOESN'T STOP THEM. WITH THE TRACTION CONTROL OFF AND THE LARGER TIRES, IT IS JUST BARLEY GETTING TRACTION WITH FULL THROTTLE. YOU CAN HEAR A SLIGHT SOUND OF LOOSE TIRES AND TWO LIGHT BLACK LINES ON THE ROAD, IF YOU HAVE TIME TO LOOK IN THE MIRROR. IT TAKES ABOUT 30 SECONDS THE PUT THE TOP UP OR DOWN. THAT SEEMS TO BE ABOUT AVERAGE COMPARED TO OTHER CARS, BUT I WOULD LIKE IT TO BE FASTER. IT IS A VERY, VERY FUN CAR TO DRIVE, EXCEPT FOR THE ONLOOKERS. I ALSO HAD TO CHANGE THE EXHAUST TO GET A BETTER SOUND. THAT AGAIN IS A PERSONAL THING.
