2002 Buick Century - Custom
Pros: Smooth engine and transmission
Cons: plain looking interioir
Advice: Look at the regalThe century is an affordable car with many extras one would normally expect only in a car costing $10,000 more. The 175 Hp engine gives you plenty of power to pass at highway speeds or drive over steep mountain passes. The interior is a bit plain looking but is soft and comfortable. The ride is very smooth but has a bit of float in corners at high speed. The concert II stereo provides great sound with and easy to operate controls. The engine and transmission are smooth and responsive. This car does not have the flash of many higher priced cars but if you would like a V6 with power everything and a proven, beefy yet smooth engine all for under $20,000 then look at the Century.
2002 Buick Regal - LS
Pros: smooth 200 hp engine
Cons: cup holders
Advice: Much more than is offered in the century or comparable imports.Smooth acceleration and nice tight handling in corners. The braking is strong and controlled. The exterior is sleek and looks like a much more expensive car. The interior is pretty nice and functional although the cup holders could be a bit bigger to handle larger cups. Lots of standard options and a beefy 200 hp engine make this a great vehicle for the money.
2002 Buick LeSabre - Custom
Pros: SEAT COMFORT
Cons: Quality and fit. Shifting is rough when changing speeds on hiway
Advice: Do not expect 29 miles per guallon on the road at hiway speedsCar was very Comfortable to enter and exit. Seats are high and car is nice to drive, Steering is looser than I am used to so car wanders a little. Transmission is not the smoothest. Milage was at 21 on the hiway and less in town. Power was suffient but not outstanding. The interior fit was poor as cloth was coming loose because it was cut too short. Other trim did not line up good.
2002 Buick Park Avenue - Base
Pros: ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Advice: IF YOU CAN AFFORD THE EXTRA COST BUY THE LIMITED WITH ALL THE EXTRAS FEATURES.I just returned from a trip to FLORIDA and i must say it was very enjoyable ride. I averaged almost 28 miles per gal. Did not take any oil, and drove 700 miles the first day and felt fine at end of day. This is a great road care.
2002 Buick Rendezvous - CX AWD
Cons: Not enough cargo room with third seat up.
Advice: Don't forget to ask about graduate incentive. We save $500.I love this SUV. I was looking for a mini-van. My husband couldn't drive a mini-van...too cool. I saw the Rendezvous and took it home for the husband to see. He fell in love! I drove form CA to CO with two dog kennels A baby and all that goes with moving.(Well everything you need for a baby!) I was surprised how comfy the drive was. Amazing how much room you have! Those driving a Lexus and Mercedes should have test driven a Rendevous.
2002 Buick LeSabre - Custom
Pros: The 3800 engine .. none better
Cons: ... can't think of anything ....
Advice: This is a proven car with the best V6 drivetrain made. This was the car I was going to buy ... if I didn't buy the Rendezvous ... I test drove a few LeSabres .. very nice ride ... smooth ... quiet ... powerful... The 3800 engine I now is the closest thing you can get to a V8 ... I have two other 3800 engines in my driveway ...one is 11 years old and the other is 10 years old and the engines are original and running better than most new engines .. it is very smoothe quiet and powerfull ...and durable. The ride of the LeSabre is superior to the Rendezvous but I like sitting up high and the room of the Rendezvous ... .. I would recommend the LeSabre to anyone who wants a proven car that will last ... and not rust out like most foreign cars and is safe... ........ also ..... you will put a lot more Americans to work.
2002 Buick Rendezvous - FWD
Pros: I like them all
Cons: the older GM 3.4 engine
Advice: This vehicle will surely meet your family needsI absolutely love it! This vehicle is the perfect compromise of a minivan's versatility, an SUV's sporty looks, a sedan's ride, and not to mention Buick's luxury. I have two children, so I opted for the 2nd row captain's chairs, and the 3rd row backseat. I can't believe all that we can do in this 'crossover'. I truly appreciate what it has to offer since I previously owned a 2-door sport coupe. I don't think I could ever go back to anything less than the Rendezvous. I had shopped around and compared quite a few different models, this Buick offers the 'most bang for the buck.' Yes, it could use a little more horsepower and better fuel economy however. Even though it says 26 MPG HWY, I'm still only averaging about 21. But other than that, it's definitely a keeper. I have the FWD w/ traction control as well as the Luxury package. I'm still working on learning about all that this vehicle can do for me and my family - it's exciting!
