Pros: Noise reduction and side window air bags.
Cons: Under powered by the ancient V6. Other GM makes have higher hp V6 with better mpg.
Advice: Think carefully about V6 vs V8 performance, gas mileage and reliability. In comparison to our 2002 V6 LaSabre: Lives up to quiet claims for engine, air stream and tire noise. Acceleration slightly less - requires more throttle. Instant gas mileage reading appears to be about 10% less. Turning diameter is greater. Otherwise handling similar - good at 75 mph highway as well as in town. A comfortable car with barely acceptable performance.
Pros: Driveability and Comfort.
Cons: No dislikes
Advice: Drive it you will like it. Be sure to consider the add on packages they enhance the vehicle and are a good value.I bought my Lucerne in March. My wife and I are retired and travel a lot. We have recently returned from a trip to Arizona. We drove over 4000 miles and enjoyed the ride very much. The V6 had more than adequate power and the mileage was good (around 25 average). Handling and comfort is excellent. The bells and whistles make this car not only convenient but fun to own. We both love it. GM has come through with a vehicle that is stylish and driveable.
Pros: comfort and design
Cons: Nothing as of yet.
Advice: If your looking at large sedans, give this a hard look.I purchased the Lucerne this past Janurary. I have been an GM guy for 15 years and this is one of the best GM cars I've seen built. The ride is quite and comfortable, it feels heavy and I've enjoyed looking at it in the garage. So far my gas mileage has been 20 in town and that makes me happy! When I retire my wife wants one too!
Pros: Interior features, quiet, and comfort.
Cons: Hoping gas mileage improves.
Advice: Consider the front bench seat.Drove it 750 miles in one day the first week I owned. Wonderful road car.
Pros: Too many to list, but the heated washer fluid, heated & cooled seats are awsome!
Cons: Mpg too low and they should offer the magnetic suspension and var. pwr.steering in the V-6 model.
Advice: Great family car with great ride, quiet, handles good, nice big trunk. Nothing in this price range can touch this car.Have driven 2000 miles so far. Love everything about the vehicle except the mpg. So far with 60% highway getting 23mpg. My last vihicle with the same engine was near 28mpg. It is so quiet even at high speeds there is very little wind noise. The headlights are excellent. I have the cxl model and replaced the stock Continental tires with Michelin tires and it made a drastic improvement. I don't know why they would put such cheap tires on an automobile of this caliber. I preferred the ride and handling of the cxs model, but with fuel at $2.50+/gal. I was looking for better than 20mpg. Too bad the suspension of the cxs is not available in the cxl unless you get the v-8.
Pros: There are so many...remote starting is awesome in the winter
Advice: Be prepared to be pamperedJust bought one 1000 miles ago. Had been driving a MINI cooper s for 2.5 years. Wow, what a difference. I'm in heaven...almost.
Pros: Power and solid handling
Advice: Make sure you get the Northstar - it is effortlessJust bought the V8 CXL and have to say I am shocked at how much better it drives and feels than the Cadillac STS V8 I almost bought. This is a fantastic car at a great price. Everyone loves it!
