Pros: From top to bottom, inside and out, this SUV tops the charts! And the woodgrain steering wheel is a very nice touch!
Cons: It is hard to say anything bad about this SUV, to me , this is as good as an SUV can get ! But if I had to say something I would say another 25HP would be nice.
Advice: I would recommend this to anyone looking for a rugged off road SUV, in an elegant package that has style and comfort in spades.I absolutely fell in love with this car. I had been in the market for an SUV and I shopped around quite a bit. I looked at the Montero Sport, which by the time you by fully loaded is pretty much the same cost of the full size Montero (give or take a couple of thousand), I also looked at the 4 Runner and Izuzu Trooper. At first it was all about the exterior. Man, it just plain looks tough, yet mannered, from the outside. But half of the beauty of this SUV is in the interior. Mitsubishi spared no expense on the interior. The leather is beautiful, the woodgrain is elegant (sometimes manufacturers dont get the right color and it just looks off). The trird row seat is perfect for the kids, and you can fit 3 adults in the second row comfortably, with plenty of leg room even with the front seats all the way back. My wife's favorite feature is the in dash trip/temp/compas/climate control LCD. The ride is lush, and engine, while I would like about another 25HP, is still punchy enough for high way driving and has a great amount of torque for off roading. The ride is smooth as glass and the tranny shifts very clean, not too jerky even on hard accelerations. The all time 4 wheel drive is nice feature for slicky wet/icy/light snow covered roads, it really keeps you 'locked' to pavement, but in dry weather I keep it in 2 wheel drive for the better gas milage. While I havent yet put it through any hard core 4X4 tests, I have no doubts she will come out on top! All in all I would say Mitsubishi knocked it out of the park with this highly polished, yet rugged SUV!
Pros: outside appearance
Cons: comfort of ride
Advice: check out suspension and ride in back seat to check to ride comfortlooks good, handles ok, but very poor suspension for overall comfort, people riding in bad seat are very uncomfortable, front seat comfort ok. they need a new suspension to improve overall ride, have decided not to trade for newer model because of the ride discomfort
Pros: The directional display, arm rest, two glove compartments, the third row fold away seat, and best of all the power seats.
Cons: A front bra cover not availible at time of purchase
Advice: If you want a good looking muscle SUV with a nice feel the LIMITED is the way to go!Highly impressed with the feel of the Montero Limited. The comfort a car and the feel of a SUV. To me it is a good combination of comfort and feel for the road in one SUV. The gas usage is not that bad for the power that you have at your control.
Pros: All wheel drive
Cons: No power seat option
Advice: Good overall vehicle with minor flaws.Good handling with the all wheel drive. Radio controls are very tiny. The climate controls are in the wrong order. Vehicle feels very stable even in sharp corners. Brakes work well but feel a little soft. Design is old time but feels better than most of the new stuff. The only things it needs are a rear hatch remote release and a powerseat option.
Pros: Ruggedness for off-road/pulling
Cons: gas mileage
Advice: Highly Recommend--please see comments-this is my second Mitsu Sport LS-4WDAn excellent 4WD 'Truck'' on-off road. Needs more HP, closer turning/steer ratio, fair gas mileage, soft brakes, heavier shocks. Good pulling vehicle. No mechanical problems.
Cons: reccomends premium gas
Advice: great upgrade from the sport modeloverall great suv for the money, very comfortable,a pleasure to drive.
Pros: The entire package - Comfort, sure-footed, looks good, ride
Cons: Gas Milage so far 17 to 18 GPM
Advice: Research & Compare... You will probably come backWe were ready to leave the station wagon behind, but not yet ready for a sedan... the van was out... My wife wanted a pretty car... I wanted something that looked good, drove well, had 4 wheel drive, and could still get us to the outter banks comfortably with our family of 5 for summer vacation... Also checked with owners for reliability...The Montero Sport LS was the solution... Feels good so far... looking forward to driving more
