Pros: outside appearance
Cons: comfort of ride
Advice: check out suspension and ride in back seat to check to ride comfortlooks good, handles ok, but very poor suspension for overall comfort, people riding in bad seat are very uncomfortable, front seat comfort ok. they need a new suspension to improve overall ride, have decided not to trade for newer model because of the ride discomfort
Pros: All wheel drive
Cons: No power seat option
Advice: Good overall vehicle with minor flaws.Good handling with the all wheel drive. Radio controls are very tiny. The climate controls are in the wrong order. Vehicle feels very stable even in sharp corners. Brakes work well but feel a little soft. Design is old time but feels better than most of the new stuff. The only things it needs are a rear hatch remote release and a powerseat option.
Pros: Ruggedness for off-road/pulling
Cons: gas mileage
Advice: Highly Recommend--please see comments-this is my second Mitsu Sport LS-4WDAn excellent 4WD 'Truck'' on-off road. Needs more HP, closer turning/steer ratio, fair gas mileage, soft brakes, heavier shocks. Good pulling vehicle. No mechanical problems.
Cons: reccomends premium gas
Advice: great upgrade from the sport modeloverall great suv for the money, very comfortable,a pleasure to drive.
Pros: The entire package - Comfort, sure-footed, looks good, ride
Cons: Gas Milage so far 17 to 18 GPM
Advice: Research & Compare... You will probably come backWe were ready to leave the station wagon behind, but not yet ready for a sedan... the van was out... My wife wanted a pretty car... I wanted something that looked good, drove well, had 4 wheel drive, and could still get us to the outter banks comfortably with our family of 5 for summer vacation... Also checked with owners for reliability...The Montero Sport LS was the solution... Feels good so far... looking forward to driving more
Pros: I like the heated seats and the sun roof
Cons: The shape of the side views and the lights do not turn themselves off after I open the door - I think automatic lights should be standard now
Advice: Don't buy it retail, the dealership will come down like $1500 off MSRP at least - get the 3.5L engine if you need the torqueI am really enjoying my new Mitsu Montero Sport Limited. It's a sharp looking import SUV with out the price tag, although it's a bit pricey, the value of the equipment and every option, the Mitsubishi name and of course the syling make it worth the price. I've always owned japanese vehicles and this is my first mitsu, I have nothing to complain about other than some silly engineering quirks. My opinions though.. The engine is powerful enough to tow 5000lbs and the on-the-fly 4-wheel drive is great and I can't wait for it to snow. I'll be back with an updated review later.
Pros: 'Bulldog Tough' front end and the generous ground clearence.
Cons: The wiper controls
Advice: Research Prices!!! CarMax offers brand new Mitsu's and their prices are typically $2000 - $2500 less than sticker. Prices are posted online so take them with you and have the dealer match the price. The thing that got me first was the back seat leg room. With the front seat all the way back my knees weren't hitting the back of the front seat. I'm 6'2'. The ride is very smooth and predictable however, the alignment was out a little bit. With the touring package the interior accents are a nice touch and the sunroof adds an overall open feel to the passenger compartment. The only quirky thing about the vehicle is the wiper controls. Everything is jammed into the right side 'uni stick' on the steering column and take a while to master. I suppose this comes from driving GM cars for so many years. Overall this vehicle is a pleasure to drive and offers a great ride quality. I would recommend that anyone in the market for an SUV give this one considerable thought.
