Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
Cons: No auto lights (see ! ! ! thats all I can find wrong)
Advice: Don't be afraid to punch this vehicle when you drive it. You want to see what it can do don't you?I work at the plant as an engineer, so I can sincerely vouch for the quality of this vehicle. It is by far the best thing on four wheels to ever come out of this plant. As far as looks, just look at it. Not your run-of-the-mill family sedan. In fact, this family sedan is really a sports coupe with two doors leading to a spacious back seat. Which brings me to my next point...255 torque and 230 pony's for under 25K. Just try and find that anywhere else. Add to that, strut tower bracing, trac control, 17''s, fluid mount engine, and on and on, and you've got a rock solid car that will blow honda accord, toyota camry and nissan altima out of the water, both on looks and performance. Sorry big Japanese three, but the Galant steals your formerly stingy stage spot. You owe it to yourself to stand out while the others stand back. Go test drive one of these bad boys...you WILL NOT be dissapointed. Personally, I like the ultra red with black leather...which might be why I bought one. Or it might be the 7 grand I saved off sticker since I work at the plant. Or it might be the way it drives. Most likely it is a combination of all these factors. Seriously though, make the time and go test drive one. One more pointer, go to your local M'bishi dealor first, then go to the other Big Jap 3 (nissan, toyota, honda). This way, you can have the yardstick in your hand to see that the others won't measure up!
Pros: great fitting seats, low headrests
Cons: it is noisy when you take off
Advice: Buy it!I test drove an Outlander, Galant and Lancer. I couldn't see around the headrests on the Outlander and the Lancer just didn't do it for me. This is my 4th Galant and the best one so far. I had an absolutely wonderful car buying experience at Burlington Mitsubishi in S. Burlington, VT. As a return customer they bent over backwards to show their appreciation for sticking with Mitsubishi. The new look of the Galant is great, the interior is well appointed for someone who is vertically challenged the seats fit nice under the thighs (not too long) and I can see over and around the head rests. The new 3 year inclusive service incentive and 5 year warranty were one of the deciding features of staying with a Mitsubishi.
Advice: TEST DRIVE YOU WILL FALL IN LOVEI JUST BOUGHT MY 2004 GALANT AND I LOVE IT.EVERYTHING ABOUT IS PERFECT!!!!!!
Pros: The interior comforts of the Leather Plus package.
Cons: Absence of 60/40 fold down seating.
Advice: Find your nearest Mitsubishi dealer and enquire. The dealer insisted I take the showroom model 2004 Galant LS for a test drive and I am glad I did. It perfomed excellently in traffic. Acceleration(230hp) and braking (ABS/EBD) kept me at appreciable distances from other commuters. Outside noise was very minimal. Being showroom, this car has all the bells and whistles, which even included a DVD with screens mounted in the driver and passenger headrests.(Finding Nemo works great for calming kids on long trips) I can't say enough about the great service I receved from Jaime Luna, my salesperson, and all the El Paso Mitsubishi staff that assisted him in the sale of this awesome car. Thanks.
Pros: Feminine Curves
Cons: Depreciates like Crazy
Advice: I would buy a Camry or Accord - same price and will hold their valueI was very happy with my Mitsubishi - no complaints what-so-ever.....until I went to trade it in. This car depreciates like crazy. While car shopping the kbb trade-in value dropped $700 in 1 week. That scared me enough to trade it in that very day, didn't want to see it drop again the next week. I traded in my 2003 Galant for $7500.00 - can you imagine a 2 year old car that someone paid $20,000 for being worth less then 1/2 that barely 2 years later.
Advice: drive itI purchased a 2004 galant yesterday and I truly LOVE it. VERY comfortable and at a terrific price. This car is beautiful and spacious. I have 2 children so that space really makes a difference and it is also a 5 star safety rating. TO ANYONE OUT LOOKING FOR A KNEW VEHICLE: Please take a look at this and drive it and you will love it...
Pros: Power, Comfort, Affordability, Style
Advice: Buy a GTS if you have the opportunityThe Galant GTS is the best value in the auto industry today. Hands down the best overall vehicle available for under $26,000. The GTS is better thab=n most vehicles I drove under $40,000.
