    2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse - GT

    Pros: stereo system

    Cons: low to ground

Advice: buy it you regret it

this cars driving manipulation i that of a professional racing car. truly the best car i have driven in years. first i world like to point out, probably the best feature of the car, the stereo system. infinity took this car and made it a rolling night club. with the bouncing bass and the out of this word speakers, you could almost hear the girl next to you offer you a drink. another great feature, why the stick shift of coarse. changing from automatic to stick is a quality that most racers admire. while you coming home after a hard day at work, or you have your but on the edge of your seat ready to punched the gas as the traffic light turns green, this type of stick shift suits all. and who could forget the oh so popular outer design. with a ride like this, no women will turn you down. with a sporty looks and speed to follow. two hundred horse power with throw you to the back of you seat, as you feel the engine pull the car forward with its front wheel drive. i remember when i first stepped in, i punched the gas and felt the car throw itself forward into seventy miles per hour in less then four seconds, as my eyes thrust back into my head. i watched carefully as the car change gears. first one, two, three, four! i couldnt believe the speed i was going. after the car reached one hundred miles per hour, i didnt even reconize that i was going so fast. all i could feel was the seat carefully comfort me as i jammed to the bangin beats that the infinity stereo system blasted. some of my friends even said that they can feel the ground shake as i turn the bass full and the volume all the way up. althought the car was, in my opinion, a five star rating, there were a few flaws. i am five foot ten inches, and if i didnt readjust the seat back a tiny bit, my head would start a brush fire by rubbing against the roof of the car. stepping out of this car isnt the greatest quality either. it takes an enormous amount of effort to left myself out of the car. sometimes i am more afraid of pulling a muscle because i didnt stretch first, than wiether or not the car next to me is going to ding me. but never the less, i love this car. if this car didnt ride so low, then performance wouldnt be so excellent. who could deny such artist creation that brings the racing reality to all. the eclipse also has a great sunroof where, with one push of the button, freash air enters your car with out the wind in your face. the sunrun also has a tint that blocks out ultra violet rays that try to enter the car. did i mention every young persons favorite quality? why the fog lights. these are not only stylish but also very effective on dark roads. so, in conclusion, the eclipse is one of the best cars of the year, wiether your driving home from work, or racing, this car rocks.

    2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse - GT

    Pros: Looks and performance

Cons: Water drips into trunk with hatchback up in the rain

Advice: Buy it -- fun car.

I originally bought a 2000 RS (4 cyl) but liked the car so much I upgraded to a 2001 GT (6 cyl). It has been very reliable, fun to drive, and with a small child -- there is plenty of room in the back. My only complaint is water leaks into the back compartment when lifting the hatchback in the rain. Minor - though. Love the car.

    2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse - GTS

Pros: It is a fun, good looking sports car at a reasonable price - with a fair amout of pop thrown in for good measure.

Cons: I was worried about sluggish performance, but my fuel quality discovery cured that.

Advice: I agree w/ an earlier review - HAGGLE FOR YOUR PRICE. I actually live in Bloomington/Normal where the car is built. Their first offer was $1000 down/ $585 a month (8.1% interest). We settled at $1500 down/ $452 a month (5.45% interest).

My buyer's remorse on this vehicle ended quickly. It is simply a blast to drive. As the immortal Shelby himself said, 'I don't care if a car can go 200 mph. It's how fast it goes from 0 - 100 that counts'. I realize that this car isn't quite in that class, but I've never had as much fun hitting the legal speed limit in my life. Find a country road and a stop sign. Look around. Let it rip. ONE VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: The quality of gas one uses appears to affect this car quite a bit. Anything lower than high grade 91 Octane will ground this flyer, especially gears 1 - 3. Be very sure of the quality of your fuel (during test drives as well).

    2002 Mitsubishi Eclipse - GT

Pros: can let auto shift or I can shift

Cons: passenger seat is not electric-can't 'autoset' for 2 different drivers

Advice: Have fun with this sports car!

I bought a 2002 in Feb this year. I have been very happy with the car - the dealership service needs improvement. I do feel it is rather expensive but then I got ALL the 'goodies'

    2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse - GTS

    Pros: cars performance

    Cons: placement of cup holders

Advice: Looking for an affordable sports car? Test drive GTS model

This is a fun car to drive. The extra 10hp and the new final drive ratio with 5 speed on GTS model make a difference. This car is quick. There is more body roll than expected but it still handles pretty well. But it handles bumps and pot holes better than I expected so I guess that's the trade off with the handling. There is a bunch of wind noise but this is a sport coupe not a Lexus. And besides if they made it real quiet you wouldn't be able to hear the great sounds the engine and exhaust make. This is the way a sport coupe should sound! This car is a lot more comfortable than I expected. Front seats have support in the right spots. No room in the back seats but that's not why I bought this car. If your six ft or taller make sure you take this car for a long test drive. I'm over six ft and I just fit headroom wise, leg room is fine though. Quality seems ok, fit and finish is average, interior materials seem a little cheaper than I would prefer. Sound system sounds great, six disc in dash is a nice feature, audio controls on steering wheel is a great thing to have. Two tone interior colors looks nice. Overall a fun car, with good performance. But remember this is basically a sports car, not a family car or comfort cruiser. It's supose to be fun to drive and it is. Buy one and have a blast.
