Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
Pros: View from the front of the car (especially headlights/rally lights)
Cons: getting used to the keyless entry (passenger side)
Advice: Buy it-you wont ever regret itEver been on a roller coaster and wonder how it stays on the tracks on those tight turns?-Well that's what you'll ask yourself in the MINI. I bought the 2005, with cold weather package (not winter yet-so i'll save that review) the panoramic sunroof (a must) and let me tell you, every day you will become more connected with yout MINI. It will be the highlight of your day and especially your night, when the glow of the dash illuminates your MINI. Great gas mileage. and if you build it online you really feel it's all YOURS, from the paint to the parking lights-you design it. Buy it-the MINI is the future!
Advice: Drive it fast .. taked a sharp curve .. don't slow down. The Cooper S Convertible an adult toy! How fun! It performs like a 2 steater sports car with a back seat. We will be buying one soon. The convertible is clever and begs to be driven top down no matter the weather.
Pros: The handling of the car -- excellent steering and suspension
Cons: comfort -- you do feel the bumps, especially at slow speeds
Advice: if you like small cars and like cars that handle well in any weather condition, buy a MiniI purchased a Mini in January, 2004. I am very happy with the handling, gas mileage, and the overall performance. It is an excellent car driving in bad weather -- snow, ice, or rain. It is a fun car to drive, and the design is excellent. All of the controls are easy to access.
Pros: The smoothness of the engine
Cons: The color
Advice: Expect the best, it's from BMW! And that's what you get.I test drove the mini, and found it to be truly the best performing vehicle I have ever driven. It handled smoothly & without any trouble. The comfort of the vehicle made it a pleasure to drive. The performance of the engine was very smooth & the stering responded to my touch very easily. I would reccomend this vechicle to anyone who was interested in a new sporty car. It was an honor to drive such a remarkably built machine. I hope to purchase one in the future.
Cons: Lack of inside storage areas, for cellphones, maps, etc.
Advice: All goodExcellent... As stated in other reviews it is neccessary to keep the RPM's up out of the hole. Other than that, my new word for all those SUV's out there is 'pylons'. The Cooper S moves through traffic with ease. More room up front than my wifes Montero. I have the after market add-on cup holder which works great. Mult-function steering wheel is a joy.
Pros: The GPS (Navigation System), stereo
Cons: Sometimes it stalls for a second when I shift from park to drive
Advice: Buy it if you like the versatility of a compact vehicle in terms of zipping in and out of the city, parking, etc.I have the CVT (automatic) Cooper. It accelerates really well, I find that I'm way ahead of the drivers in traffic in terms of speed. Sometimes I do notice that it sometimes stalls for a second when I shift from park to drive but other than that, I love the way it drives. It does attract attention maybe because it is still fairly new and not to mention the size is very cute, it looks like a toy.
Pros: The size makes parking really much easier to find in the city.
Cons: The ride can be a little rough due to the small size and sportier suspension.
Advice: Test drive it and see if the size is something you would feel comfortable in. The interior has plenty of space and is comfy...but a semi truck can be very intimidating. The steering is tight and the car handles well. The supercharged engine does a darn decent job of moving this little car. I completely enjoy driving the car. It also makes a nice attention getter for people who enjoy getting looks and smiles.
