2001 Mercury Cougar
I love my little car
Pros: I like that when the wind blows my car doesnt slide al over the road
Cons: I got my car used and it needs some small repairs
MPG is 35 average It gets me any where I want to go The Kid seats fit well when I have my grandkids, it can seat 4 adults - but put the taller ones in the front. The seat folds down in the back for moving big stuff and shopping at costco.- Recommend this vehicle to a friend? Yes

2003 Mercury Marauder
Detroit Steel was the best
Pros: luxury with sport handling
Cons: no convertables
The Marauder is the best car I have owned. It has had work done on it and performs as such. The fact that 'global warming' is a fraud has more people asking about the large black sedan. We have 300 years of oil, coal and naturasl gas available to us in this country. It is time to put Al Gore in jail for profiteering fraud and drill and mine ourselves; cleanly, into a higher life style and job market for us and the entire world. All the while, since carbon is a friend of plants and therefore of man, concentrating on real pollution issues and keeping America clean and pristine; while enjoying Detroit Steel.- Recommend this vehicle to a friend? 2004 Mercury Marauder - Base
Pros: Big and Powerful.
Cons: Some cheap plastic inside. Spare tire eats trunk space.
Advice: The 2004 model has traction control and a better transmission that the 2003 models
What a brute! I never thought a car this size could handle so well. I found several old reviews with an internet search written when the car first came out. All the people who say it isn't fast off the line must be comparing it to a Corvette or something. It's plety fast and easy on the back on long commutes. Allthogh premuim fuel is required, when I first got it, I accidentally put midgrade in it like my last car used. It did OK. I don't know if premium is really needed unless you are going to race. -
2004 Mercury Marauder - Base
Pros: leg room galore , peppy for a family car
Cons: premium fuel required, far too heavy to really be considered fast
Advice: be sure this is what you want its not a muscle car its a mediocre family car
I took the marauder (2004) out for a full days test drive and found it to be comfortable and fairly quick. dont buy one if your really looking for a blow your doors off type of speed and acceleration . The 4.6 dohc engine produces a fair 302 hp however with a heavy car like this it really could have used a supercharger to help boost the torque and hp.however if its for a family car it would be just fine. I didnt like the dash and the autometer gauges although cool looking arent really located in a good position and would hardly receive the attention they should be given when driving. premium fuel is also demanded due to the high comp 4.6 .isnt gas expensive enough without being fored into buying premium. It really sucked the gas down too when you drive it even somewhat aggressively sticker said 17mpg city I found it to be more like 14mpg at best.also the car I took out was only used for 15 months 5k miles and selling for 22.5k original sticker was almost 36k thats not holding its value at all. In the end it seams that mercury really was tring to make an elephant into a cheetah and didnt quite get there. its a compromise that few found enticing considering the production run was 2 years I havent been able to find the actual production numbers but id be willing to say they werent what mercury expected outwise theyd have kept making them -
2004 Mercury Marauder - Base
Pros: The DYNO MAX exhaust system
Cons: the mercury symbols (needs the MARAUDER symbol)
Advice: If you like performance at a ok price this is the one
I love this car! I like everything about it, the car is right for me. I will be getting a black one in about three weeks. Its performance is great. It has a nice growl with its dyno max exhaust system, and the style is great. I can enjoy this car forever. -
2004 Mercury Marauder - Base
Pros: Its a true sports car, not a sport edition of some economy 4 cyl with a spoiler and rims
Cons: for the price, I would have liked to see a navigation system
Advice: none, youll see it, youll like it, youll drive it, youll love it, youll buy it!!!!!!!
Here it is all of you married family men who used to drive a hot rod back before you tied the knot, the Mercury Marauder. Not only will you love it, she will love it, too. 4 doors, 5 star safety rating, front and side airbags, and room for kids, baby seats, and a big trunk for groceries and a stroller! Now why we like it. Its a Ford, it hauls ass and you practically own the road with it, it looks nice, 18' chrome 5 spoke rims, dual exhaust with chrome pipes, racing guages, 6 disc Alpine stereo, tuned suspension....need I say more? All you need is some black tint and youre set! I love this car and it just goes to show you that you cant mess with true American Muscle!!! Eat my dust all you rice burners!!!!!!! -
