    2002 Mercury Mountaineer - AWD

Pros: All the new additions from the 2000

    Cons: Can't say

Advice: You will not be sorry

This is a car in an SUV!! It is the most comfortable car I have ever driven. This is my second time around and they say things get better with age, totally on this vehicle, but you must get the V8. This is a peppy car and the V6 is not peppy enough. They did an aweome job on this one!!

    2003 Mercury Mountaineer - 4.6L V8 Luxury (315A) AWD

    Pros: power/engine

    Cons: fit on some pieces

Advice: It beats the overpriced Explorer!

I bought the 4.6 liter option and it was well worth the extra $$. I like the overall handling, ergonomics took a while to get used to, smooth ride, and ability to haul alot of stuff or people. You get alot for your money.

    2002 Mercury Mountaineer - AWD

Pros: V-8 power, 17 inch wheels, sound system (audiophile) and premier package (silver frost)

Cons: power seat control location, no built in video option.

Advice: value, safety, V-8 power and AWD and most of all distinctive looks.

I bought this Mountaineer in May and I can say that is the best suv I have driven or ridden in. I previously owned a Plymouth Grand Voyager and thought that I would be sacraficing in versatility as far as space, comfort and ride. This vehicle has the power, comfort and ride plus performance and looks to boot. I get so many looks when I drive this suv as well as compliments. I believe for the dollar this is best mid size suv out there.

    2002 Mercury Mountaineer - 4x2

Pros: 3 row fold down and covers

    Cons: No under seat storage

Advice: Drive it, you'll like it

I am a pet sitter and drive over 100 miles per day. The Mountaineer handles very well in all types of weather here in South Florida. I was truley impressed with the turning radius. I had previously owned a minivan and could never make the turn. Now, I can make the U turn in tight places with room to spare

    2002 Mercury Mountaineer - AWD

Pros: unbelievable ride- great urban and suburban vehicle

Cons: the third seat would be better if it was 50/50 fold down

Advice: you don't need the V8

Great car!!! I test drove almost every SUV including Acura, Lexus, Toyota, Nissan, GM, Mercedes and Jeep. This is the best of the bunch in terms of what you get and how much it costs. More substantial than any other American SUV. Finish and trim is as good as any of the imports, better than Mercedes. I just figured out why people rate Acura, Lexus and MB so high. They don't want to look like idiots who overpaid for a car. Toyota is highly rated for the same reasons. I noticed that the service department at the Toyota dealer had more upset owners than the Lincoln mercury dealer. Must be a good car.
