2006 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class - SL500
Pros: convertiable
Cons: built-in GPS cup holers
Advice: Don't buy it, unless you willing to pay $7100 or more to replace the GPS for each liguid spill.
Do not buy SL500 (2006) or any model with cup-holders built in to the GPS command unit, it is unsafe to drive with one hand on the wheel and have to use the other hand to hold the drink in order to prevent automatic spilling when the road is not smooth or over the bumps or making the turns...it is a very bad design and the replacement of the GPS unit could cost $7100 and more each time... according to Mercedes Benz 'any liquid spill is not covered under the warranty'. Why? It is caused by the car it self and why do we have to pay more for the problem they have created? They should RECALLS all cars with that design! -
2003 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class - SL500
Pros: Retracting roof, smooth as silk power, comfort and safety.
Cons: Wish the front was more Formula 1 inspired as in the new SLK.
Advice: You cannot go wrong in owning this vehicle.
Almost every major carmaker wants to and claims to make vehicles that take one's breath away, by their presence or their performance. The Mercedes Benz S-class in genral and the SL-class in particular leave one panting for air, with their looks AND performance. Few cars can come near the quality, image, prestige, performance and overall experience of driving in one of these incredible machines. -
