2012 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class Review

Introduction:

Early reports point to the 2012 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class receiving a classic grille, much like the one found on Mercedes' new SLS AMG sports car. Much of the rest of the current SL-Class elements will likely remain. Spy photos reveal the elongated hood, short trunk and long overhangs will survive, as will a metal retractable hardtop. Engine choices will probably reflect Mercedes' recent move toward turbocharging smaller-displacement engines instead of the larger normally aspirated power plants found in the current model. Our best guess has a 4.7-liter twin-turbo powering the base model and a larger twin-turbo motivating the AMG variant.
