For 2007, Mercedes-Benz delivers an all-new, ninth-generation S-Class that may be the most controversial design to hit the German luxury automaker’s lineup in years. More important, the new S-Class is a rolling test bed of the latest technology Mercedes-Benz has to offer, like an improved Pre-Safe Plus system and updated Brake Assist Plus system to all-new features like Night View Assist and radar-based Distronic Plus cruise control. There’s no doubt that this latest S-Class from Mercedes-Benz will put it ahead of the competition to lead the super-luxury pack. If you desire best-in-class transportation and can afford a base sticker price of just over $86,000, then the all-new 2007 Mercedes S-Class is your ticket to ride.
S550 Wheel The 2007 Mercedes-Benz S550 comes standard with 18-inch aluminum wheels and the option of getting 19-inch wheels with the AMG Sport package.
S550 Interior Luxury abounds inside the 2007 Mercedes-Benz S550, from the leather seating to the metal and wood trim. The S550’s seats also come with a massage option for that stressful ride home at the end of the day.
S550 Front The new 2007 Mercedes-Benz S550 sports wide flared fenders at every corner. The car looks wider than the previous model but is actually only one inch broader overall. The new more muscular design is the most controversial styling from Mercedes in many years.
S550 Rear Mercedes-Benz added a little of the ultra-luxury Maybach’s design into the rear corners of the all-new 2007 S-Class. Designers also wrapped the belt line of the car completely around the rear by extending it through the taillights to reduce the visual largesse of the rear end.
S550 Side The 2007 Mercedes-Benz S550 sports a handsome profile. The new S-Class gained two inches in overall length and three inches of wheelbase, most of which was added to rear seat leg room.
S550 Engine Engineers upped the horsepower rating by 80 in the all-new 2007 Mercedes-Benz S550 for a total of 382 ponies. Surprisingly, they managed to keep last year’s fuel economy numbers.
S550 COMAND The COMAND center in the new 2007 Mercedes-Benz S550 is easy to use and navigate – unlike BMW’s iDrive system. Mercedes has kept the menu simple and didn’t bury oft-used functions deep in the system. Quick link buttons also take you directly to the proper menu for frequently used controls.
S550 Controls Handsome metal buttons and switches adorn the interior of the 2007 Mercedes-Benz S550. Mercedes also maintains the familiar layout and design of the seat and window controls for the 2007 S550.
S550 Design The all-new 2007 Mercedes-Benz S550 wears new sheetmetal flaunting wide flares at every corner. The unusual design, though controversial, will undoubtedly boost sales of this flagship Mercedes, whose owners like to be noticed when cruising around town.
S65 AMG Action If you have lots of disposable income, Mercedes has the car for you. The 2007 S65 AMG includes everything the regular S-Class has to offer, but with a whole lot more get-up-and-go.
S65 AMG Engine The 2007 Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG’s 6.0-liter, twin-turbo V12 spools up 604 horsepower and delivers 738 lb.-ft. of crushing torque through a specially-calibrated five-speed automatic transmission to the 20-inch rear wheels.
